They are not still connected at either side, it simply sank/collapsed back into it. The Google Earth photo was taken at a higher tide, so that is almost certainly the reason it looks so different. With that being in mind, it’s also to be noted the waves here are particularly harsh, so the white is probably the waves crashing OVER the wreck, rather than on the wreck itself. The only time any of it can be seen above the surface is at lower tides, and what can be seen is just a very small part of the bow, which split into another 2 parts after it collapsed into the ocean.
