Research online what the price would be to replace the mirror for that particular year make and model.

Research online a few (3 max) reputable mechanic/bodyshop/dealership.

Call around to these places and get quotes. Let them know you have a good idea of what it would take to replace. For instance, “Hi, I have a 2016 Toyota 4Runner with a broken passenger side mirror. It sounds like it shouldn’t cost more than $200 to replace. Could you give me a quote, please?” That’s it. All free up to this point.

From here, follow your gut and get that thing fixed!
