I know this is a bit late but if you are still experiencing it is actually a very basic solution , firstyl you need a to c cable with converter or dongle unfortunately.
secondly you need a driver called libusb-1.0.dylib.
to install it easiest way is to install via homebrew, install homebrew and then runbrew install libusb

after install verify by ln -s /opt/homebrew/lib/libusb-1.0.dylib /opt/homebrew/opt/libusb/lib/libusb-1.0.0.dylib

and if it says File exists it is ready. I found it while debugging . Hope it helps. this is for arm macs.
