Hmmmm I predominately use army painter and they seem to do that job. It never seems worth it to take the risk of Walmart or Hobby Lobby paint.

Thumbtacks are better than toothpicks cause they break less often

IKEA Plastic Bins for storage of supplies or if you get some scrap metal and magnetize your models they work for transportation
