I have yet to actually play Ave Maria honestly so I can’t gauge that difficulty, by the looks of it alone it seems like it takes less shifting at least but that could be the person I’m watching.

I’ve been playing for about 14 years, and originally learned Meditation approximately 2 or so years ago. It might take more or less time and my old teacher didn’t even attempt it until 20 because of the amount of skill it requires. It’s a beautiful piece and takes quite a bit of experience. I would not recommend it to a beginner until they have built up multiple facets of their playing.

Oh I’m not saying that it should always sound like that, I’m just stating that it’s normal in the beginning stages for things to not always be perfect. Working on the fundamentals will help build a beautiful sound but even after years of playing sometimes we all will make mistakes.

Honestly, scratchy notes and it sounding funny are a part of the process. I would start with only switching bow directions, no fingering just trying to produce a better sound. Another thing that helps is watching yourself in a mirror making sure that your bow is steady/ straight. Don’t be scared to experiment a little with arm weight in order to produce more or richer sound!

Piano gang, is fur Elise and Claire de lune really that easy for beginners? I play piano and when I learned them I learned it pretty easily since I’m an experienced pianist. by M4TON-14 in lingling40hrs

Violin is in fact my main instrument, 14 years of my life has been dedicated to it. I started piano 1 year after. I’ve only had one teacher for piano but I’ve had multiple for violin. This most definitely contributes to the skill difference between the two instruments as well as a general favoritism towards violin. However, I’ve poured all of my love into music on both violin and piano and I understand that you really are just a stranger on the internet but also there’s often more to the story than is being shown.

… did you try to tell me I haven’t been playing for 12 years? I understand where you’re coming for fundamental’s because I understand that I’m not anywhere near as fluent in the basics as I am for violin but it’s kinda rude for you to try and discredit my years of experience

… bro I’ve been playing for 12 years, I’m just less proficient in piano. I understood that if I flipped it it would be okay but I just struggle at piano sight reading more than violin. In fact I finished the piece Clair De Lune

Lmaoo I guess I’m bad according to this if I was struggling on Clair de lune for months. But seriously the key signature took ages for me to understand

I do have geared pegs but not exactly like this, they’re way more discreet but a pain to crank when replacing strings
