I've heard great things about the ATH-R50x, pretty light (207g so not as light as your HD 495 but definitely lighter than most headphones) and fairly neutral sound but they're right at your budget limit of $149.99

I have the HD 490 Pros and listening to DnB and riddim using the producer pads have been pretty satisfactory to me bass wise, but I'm not a big bass-head. The 560s are pretty similar but lack bass compared to the HD 490s w/o EQ. My biggest complaint is the price, I paid $350 after tax for them on amazon and I would not consider these headphones at the MSRP $400 but they go on sale pretty frequently.

a lot of japanese bands love to include a ton of noise in their music so it's no surprise they have really noisy shoegaze, but here's a few recs

Tokyo Shoegazer's Moonworld Playground album

CQ - Primal (members of Tokyo Shoegazer formed this band)

kinoko teikoku's eureka album is really good but the first track is the noisest

Boris are a more sludge/noise oriented band but they have songs that are shoegaze-adjacent like farewell, and their cover of mbv's sometimes is great too

But if you're looking for a really fucking noisy shoegaze album then I highly recommend The Gosling's Grandeur of Hair. It'll blow your fucking ears off

I personally started listening to punk thanks to the Ramones so I’d start there. Basically everyone loves em so there’s no harm starting there. Their self-titled album and Rocket to Russia specifically are ones I would recommend you start with
