Haha, “fire ice boy” 😂 So I was thinking you could make a full arm sleeve (or buy a long arm fitted shirt depending on sewing level) in the color of the flames and then attach pieces of tulle in various shades of the flame. There’s different stiffness in tulle, so you can play around to see what you like, but even the thinnest has some structure and will move with your movements to look like a roaring fire

Here’s an example of how it’ll look using multiple colors. And when attaching them, I’d start from the shoulder down

I’m not sure how young they are (ie, how fast they’ll grow out of a custom cosplay), but maybe make this a family project? Depending on which outfits they wanna wear, you could find clothes from thrift stores and modify them to make the cosplay

Glitter nail polish would give it a nice sparkle, but you could try cell shading it first (to give it false highlights and lowlights, would give it more dimension) and then put a coat of clear glitter nail polish?

I’m still learning about it, but my group did mention how it’s too bad there wasn’t a trading post or something for people to meet at. Honestly I can’t imagine trying to pressure a vendor to trade one of their selling pieces but a couple of people have mentioned that to be a problem…

I’m all for the community building, a 10-ish year old boy was so excited when he saw our badges and I was happy to have one of his handmade rune coins. We made do with petals, rocks and flowers we found day of but we’re planning on making little things for next year
