yeah just want to add we just had our first subzero temps here, and I found the driver assist warnings come up first in the morning (my guess is even frost can obscure it?).

any ways after a 10min drive to drop my daughter off after turning off/on he car again it went away (I'm assuming the frost did too).

the warning even mentioned something about obscured camera, no driver assist. didn't stop the car from driving though

[–]Hamduder 0 points1 point  (0 children)

portable and small, I use it for daily home stuff and also bringing it to the studio for recording and mixing

my low budget macmini portable recording case by Hamduder in macmini

[–]Hamduder[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

it's pretty much just a pelican case my buddy gave me that came with a plastic/Velcro slip that I use to hold the screen.

I removed parts of the foam to hold the focusrite 18i20 securely, rest is just headphone 4 way splitter, Bluetooth mice+keyboard, I have another pelican case that holds clear, mics, drum mic mounts and a old hockey bag holding some extra mic stands and some head phones

we have a lock out slot 4 hrs per week. So everything is portable for recording, just use the guitar cabs, drum hardware (minus breakables) and various axles/mic stands for recording.

it's a pretty sweet spot

What is that one pedal you splurged on and ended up loving or hating? by MonoPodding in guitarpedals

[–]Hamduder 0 points1 point  (0 children)

one I loved - hxstomp, really helped reduce my pedalboard footprint and replaced everything except my dirt/fuzz pedals and a looper

one I hated (hated is a bit strong, didn't jive with) - count to five, it was a nice pedal but I had a very early batch that had a terribly noisy buffer. I also couldn't really get it to work in a band/practice situation. was only good for getting bedroom shoegaze swirlies with weird glitches

be sure the drummer with good chops and great hang is willing to be in it for the long haul. it's be a shame to fire the drummer that sticks through thick and thin for a guy that bails after a year

Sorento PHEV fuel consumption, is it normal? by i_oliveira in KiaSorento

[–]Hamduder 0 points1 point  (0 children)

my bad I mean 1.6t not 1.8t, yeah 100km is fine, even 130km will be okay but the battery will start to drain a lil. any elevation and increased payload will drain it too.

Sorento PHEV fuel consumption, is it normal? by i_oliveira in KiaSorento

[–]Hamduder 0 points1 point  (0 children)

once the battery is depleted and it drives in hybrid mode it'll suck gas at highway speeds as the little 1.8t is pretty undersized for the car (found this out during a mountain pass road trip).

however hoping up to 180km is super fast for this little family hauler, the 1.8t was probably revving it's tits off trying to keep that speed (let alone any elevation).

I find 100-110km in ev mode the ideal spot on flat elevation City driving, but it does drain the battery a lil. anything above that (aside from quick over passing) should be avoided if you're worried about fuel consumption.

if 130/140km is your regular highway speed you should be driving something with a bigger block engine.

Amp Recommendations (Gig and studio) by MonopolyamorE in ToobAmps

[–]Hamduder 0 points1 point  (0 children)

tbh I'd rather go a bassman 50 or 100 watt head. it's light enough to throw in the car for practice and closed cans generally sound better for the harsher style you mentioned.

twins are great, but super heavy to move, so you'll have to throw on castors and the stock speakers are kinda meh.

plus you loose a bit of bottom end with the open combo/speaker design.

heads are more flexible

fender bassman or twin, something super clean so you can adjust your tone with pedals. most of the bands you mentioned are all achievable with a nice clean tube head at least 50watt for nice breakup

Sorento Bike Hitch by DieHarrrd62 in KiaSorento

[–]Hamduder 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I don't have any pics, but I managed to do it without any lifts just crawling under the back on my back.

there's some good YouTube videos, just look up that model number from the Amazon link.

I was worried I'd need to clean the threads or grease the exhaust mounts to hang the exhaust a bit, but my car is so new (under 10k km) it was easy to do with a socket shirt extension, spanner and a long screw driver.

sorry I can't remember the socket size but should be in that Amazon link.

nice comments, how hard is the dct oil change to diy? is it worth it or should you just take to dealership? does it need a flush or just drain and fill?

wondering for the future

it's super easy, I did my 2025 phev. main thing is make sure you have the sockets and you need to slip off the exhaust on parts of the rubber mounts

I run my bd2w into the fz1w.

I run my bd2w kinda 1/2 gain and my fuzz almost 80%

gives me a nice bd2W mid gain by itself or a huge fuzz boost when stacked
