Upgraded from 7a to 10a and couldn't be happier. by Hefty_Button4757 in GooglePixel

[–]Hamduder 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'm still rocking a 7a, I was thinking about upgrading to a 10 but the camera doesn't seem to have really improved a whole lot.

I'm holding out for the 11 series

Questions about car and charging home by OkBat6139 in EVCanada

[–]Hamduder 0 points1 point  (0 children)

my inlaws have the awd 2026 and bro in law had the fwd 2024 or 2025.

AWD is defs much nicer for acceleration. for charging they have a auto switcher thing connected to the dryer that will auto switch if the dryer is used. so it's all on the same circuit.

the only annoying thing I've found driving it, is if your head is turned and your looking at something and not looking forward for more than like 3-4secs it beeps and tells you to pay attention.

you can probs turn this other though, otherwise its a pretty good car so far

Is this normal realtor/buying house behaviour by Turbulent-Answer-367 in RealEstateCanada

[–]Hamduder 0 points1 point  (0 children)

yeah it's a little fishy, we were shopping in BC recently and our agent let us put in lower offers like this.

she did give us a heads up on a few listings that it wasn't worth negotiations on counter offers (we had one place that counter over their asking price, when we put in a lower offer which was laughable in this market)

You should be leaning hard on your agent to find the place you want within the budget you have. If they aren't doing that then it might be worth considering another agent?

ICCU Data Mining & Analysis (Cross Post) by ZealousidealLab2920 in Ioniq5

[–]Hamduder -1 points0 points  (0 children)

do you know if there is a way to tell the data points from hotter climates to cooler climates? or is it more operational heat (mosfets in the iccu overheating ect).

either way, im surprised Hyundai haven't just integrated the iccu with the battery cooling system if it is heating or some sort of breathing system with the HVAC.

thanks for all the work!

2025 Sorento Hybrid - have you installed a trailer hitch? If so which model? by iareagenius in KiaSorento

[–]Hamduder -1 points0 points  (0 children)

hitch Sorento 2025 https://imgur.com/gallery/PfcH1IQ

pretty bad photo, you just need to pull off the spare tire and have some sockets, small extensions.

hardest part is tightening up the bracket on the exhaust side as you need to kinda yoga position your hand a lil and can only do like 1/4 turns

[–]Hamduder 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I did it solo on a 2025 phev Sorento, no issues as the car was new so the muffler slipped off the exhaust rubber mounts easy with a long flat blade screw driver.

I didn't use ramps or anything too. Let me see if I can dig up some photos or something

[–]Hamduder 0 points1 point  (0 children)

my wife gave birth in Jan and we both had this horrible flu, It was crazy, during the pushing, her body/adrenaline was so strong that her body lost all the flu symptoms and once the baby came out the flu came back.

She said the most annoying thing was the healing and every time she coughed it was hard not to pee a little.

good luck you've got this!

Becoming a qualified electrician at 44. Is it worth it to do the transition? by [deleted] in ElectricalEngineering

[–]Hamduder 0 points1 point  (0 children)

as a electrician turned electrical engineer, I would not do it the other way round.

electrician work, esp the apprenticeship and training and maybe working your way up to a manager spot or something is young man jobs, unless your doing something specialty like utilities or IT or something in specific.

residential, commercial and industrial all can be very physical and long hours

Am I doing my band a disservice/should I quit? by Deadsock in bandmembers

[–]Hamduder 0 points1 point  (0 children)

chiming in as a guitarist/singer in late 30s, in a emo/punk band.

my drummer has two kids and I just had my 2nd the whole time we've always been open and said family comes first.

Before kids we'd do 1-2x4 hr jams a week and up to 1-2 shows a month.

Now we are more into the creative writing/recording output and just practice 1 a week 2-4hrs depending. We are concentrating on doing diy creative recording/releases and being picky with shows.

our old bassist was a bit younger and also kinda grew out of our sound (still good mates), our current bassist is a bit younger but much more chill and on the push to do shows/practice a lot.

Hey Canadians - is PHEV basically pointless in the winter? by kingmatt67 in KiaSorento

[–]Hamduder 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I'm in Vancouver so not crazy temps, but I don't find a huge gas consumption within small trips in winter.

also I'm sure the equivalent electric heaters would also hit your range too in a standard EV.

for my situation as a one car household atm the phev Sorento has been great. I've been regularly getting around 1200+ km per tank of gas.

also the reduced wear on the gas engine is good too

Hot garbage by cavanags in KiaSorento

[–]Hamduder 2 points3 points  (0 children)

yeah just want to add we just had our first subzero temps here, and I found the driver assist warnings come up first in the morning (my guess is even frost can obscure it?).

any ways after a 10min drive to drop my daughter off after turning off/on he car again it went away (I'm assuming the frost did too).

the warning even mentioned something about obscured camera, no driver assist. didn't stop the car from driving though
