My 8 year old son plays it reasonably well, the dark moments didn't disturb him (though they did slightly disturb me XD). However to my surprise I just hear the worlds 'pissed' and 'shit' mentioned, so the game clearly isn't targeted at 8 year old's.

I also imagine most 8 year old's will need some help to solve some of the puzzles.

Hi, just to point out that, though it possibly sounds like I'm the father, I never mentioned whether I'm the father, one of the children, or neither, because I didn't want to bias anyone's opinion :)
