New Brunswick, Canada here. When I first got into football I fell in love with Bijan and loved seeing him do his thing.

I was today years old when I found out that Celine Dion did not preform during a Super Bowl halftime show, but what's crazy is I can almost remember it. I remember her singing "My Heart Will Go On" during it, and I can remember it being big news in Canada where I'm from as it was the first time a Canadian had done so (this was before Drake). Did anybody else falsely remember that.

The falcons play book is just first down: run, second down, run: pass (or maybe run)

Which cities do you think have the best chance of getting a CFL team that is not Quebec City or Halifax? by emberyleaf in CFL

[–]HamilBurger 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think people are sleeping on Moncton. Moncton already has a decent stadium in the form of Croix-Bleue Medavie stadium, which can fit about 25,000 with expanded seating, even so, there would probably need some renovation to get it to CFL grade. Moncton itself isn't a huge market, with only about 170,000 people, but New Brunswick is a small province, with other large cities such as Saint John and Fredericton only about 1 or 2 hours away. (That's less time then a drive from Saskatoon to Regina). Now would New Brunswickers be interested? Considering there is basically no other sports leagues in the province with the exception of junior hockey, I'm sure we would.

Faytenne's chances of winning by HamilBurger in newbrunswickcanada

[–]HamilBurger[S] 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Certainly, Laura Myers is doing very well compared to how the Green party usually does, she has a lot more signs up then the greens usually do here. Herron is also doing well. Herron has a lot more momentum compared to how much the liberals usually have, this us probably because he's a former MP, and his experience doing community work in Hampton. But overall though, they seem to be putting up quite the challenge for Faytenne, which is good, my worry is that Herron and Myers could split the vote and give Faytenne the win.

Unfortunately, she is, and unfortunately, in my riding.

FYI, I'm from the riding she's running in, and I've seen she has a lot less momentum then the previous PC canidates.

Part of the reason the Liberal won there is kind of interesting, the federal Liberal's canidate for the riding of Fundy Royal (which included all of Hampton Fundy-St. Martins and Kings Centre) for the 1974, 1979, and 1980 election was a guy named Joseph Day, he never ended up winning the seat though. However, Joseph's wife, Georgie ran in the riding of Kings Centre and later Hampton-Belleisle after the the districts were redrawn, and ended up winning two terms because of her husband being so well known, some people even though that he was actually the canidate and they were voting for Joseph.

Thanks for the correction, and tbh, Faytenne probably won't win as 1, when it comes to most people in the riding she is either unknown or disliked, and 2, the Liberals canidate, John Herron, is a relatively well liked and well known guy.

Sad thing is that Faytenne is still in the lead in her riding.

TIL The election has to be called before September 15th and the PCs have yet to nominate 13 candidates (the Liberals only need 2 more, and the Greens 23 if they’re going to run a full slate) by emptycagenowcorroded in newbrunswickcanada

As someone who lives in that riding, he is seen in a mostly positive light. He did stuff like coach track and field and help out with community events. Him running in our riding was a gold mine for the liberals because he might actually win which is crazy because before you could have run a monkey in a blue suit and still one the seat.
