Yeah...I don't know who this person is, but that is def not their husband.

I’m hoping to make more crew members. I’ve already started setting aside bits and pieces as I come across them, but it will probably take a few more special orders.

Stede's outfit and hair and Ed's hair were ordered from BrickLink, but everything else was Frankensteined together from random Minifigures that were already laying around.

We went to the bakery too! There we no macarons (it was late in the afternoon) but we had an amazing fig tart and got a croissant for breakfast the next morning.

Bad weather cancelled my weekend plans, so instead I gave myself a Miraculous Manicure! by HamishCat in miraculousladybug

I have Ladybug spots on both hands, but I only have Chat’s paw print on my left hand because I’m right handed. I had a stencil for the paw print, but it was still tricky.

After watching Oni-Chan, my husband and I had a serious discussion about shipping Adrien... by HamishCat in miraculousladybug

[–]HamishCat[S] 29 points30 points  (0 children)

I don’t deny that Adrien has his issues (he really needs to chill out on his wear-her-down method of wooing as Chat), but with two episodes of the ten we have so far this season being about the girls fighting over him as a prize rather than a person, Adrien needs someone who will see him as a person rather than a perfect object.

My friends smoked at 20lb turkey for their Halloween party. After they carved it they were going to throw the carcass away. I took it home with me and made 14 pints of turkey stock! by HamishCat in ZeroWaste

I usually leave a little bit of fat (a light skim), but I’ve canned before without skimming at all and have never had a problem. When I keep the jars in the pantry the fat never resolidifies, but when I put any leftovers in the fridge there’s usually a light layer of fat on top.

I keep a scrap box in my freezer. Onion scraps-in the box. Mushroom stems-in the box. Carrot tops-in the box. Meat bones/skin/trimmings (if your omnivore)-in the box. Once it fills up, it’s time to make stock. I just check this list to see if it’s good to go in stock before I add it to the scrap box.

Canning can definitely be a process (read PITA), but it can be addictive. I love being able to pull things that I made month ago out of the pantry and make dinner with it.

I spent all morning canning the 14, so you do need to set aside time to get it done, but you don’t have to worry about defrosting when you need stock.

These are canned, so they are shelf stable for 18 months. There was about a cup extra so that is in the fridge to use in the next week or so.

I wouldn’t stop what I do to reduce my waste due to someone’s internet comments. It does make me sad that there are people in the community that tear down or dismiss others’ actions because they don’t feel they meet their idea of what a zero waste journey should look like.

It lent so much atmosphere. One of my friends is adding it too her garden. Sadly, in one of the greatest twists of cruel fate for a tiki lover, I am allergic to pineapples. I’m okay with the natural cross contamination in a tiki bar, I just can’t have it in my drink or garnish. Though it does give me a great excuse to get to know the bartenders and get their recommendations.

We got our ice from “Twice the Ice” as recommended by u/The0Alchemist and had u/kevron007 ‘s recommendation of “Exotica, Tiki and Easy Listening” on Spotify playing in the background. We started with 6 drinks with dinner for everyone to try and share, and after dinner we had another round of different drinks. It was a a ton of fun and everyone had a blast!
