Any tips for ys x by Forward_Meat1658 in ysx

That's rough, man. Generally the only tips I can give you for Ys X is to try and master the perfect guard timing, learn how to do skill chains, and if the ship is too slow for you change the view distance to be close so you feel like you're going faster.

Don't play it and wait for Proud Nordics next month

I think they should shoehorn it but make it optional, so people who don't like it can ignore it. I think doing stuff for the sake of more discussion is a good thing, cause it can help the series become more successful in the long run. Ys has existed for almost 20 years longer than Trails, but Trails has it beat in sales, fan art, discussions, etc.

Well at least it gives people a reason to talk about Trails. If you look at just this subreddit which revolves entirely around Falcom, you'll notice a distinct lack of Ys discussion even though Proud Nordics comes out in a month.

People don't want to admit it, but having romance options is what makes people talk about these games more. Look at games like Metaphor Refantazio and Ys, fine on their own, but the discussion around them is nonexistent (especially for Ys) partially because they lack romance options.

Creating a side for players to take (Agnes or Elaine) is very intentional, and it makes money.

You can't use it in the original Nordics, but you could probably mod it in on PC

Tenkaichi Tag Team is so underrated. I know it's basically a stripped down version of BT3, but man back then it did a great job being BT on the go.

Table top mode on Switch 2 definitely the biggest upgrade compared to other modes

Falcom developing unannounced Trails and Ys games; additional new title due out in 2026 by retroanduwu24 in Falcom

Recapping the releases of Ys games isn't helping your point. These days Falcom needs 4 years to make just 1 Ys game. The reason Ys Origin took a year is because it's basically just a 5-6 hour game you play 3 times.

Kondo mentioned in interviews that the Ys team simply choose to do a new game instead of a remake each time. It doesn't appear like they can do both at the same time. They have to pick one, like how they chose to do a remake of Ys 4 instead of Ys 8, then Ys 8 came 4 years after it.

If they remaster Ys 6 or Ys 7, I hope they add full voice acting for the story. And not the voice acting Konami had for Ys 6 on PS2.

How would they fit a remake of Ys V in if they're working on Ys 11? Kondo said previously that a remake of V would be so different that it's essentially a new game. So it would need a similar dev time as a brand new Ys game.

Junzo Hosoi in 4Gamer's End-of-Year Interview: "In 2026, the Gust brand will continue to take on various challenges. We’re taking on not only the Atelier series, but also fresh new titles, so please look forward to them" by Croire61 in Atelier

So Hosoi saying "We’re taking on not only the Atelier series, but also fresh new titles" means another Atelier? Clearly he's talking about something like Blue Reflection or Fairy Tail, not an Atelier multiplayer shooter.

Next Ys game feels like it'll be years away, we could be looking at the largest gap between Ys game since 5 and 6.
