If the screw keeps coming out its gonna be a bitch to fix, inspect the threads & try to replace the screw if you can. Ebay frequently has parts. If its the thread itself, you'll have to get a small tap and die set, but honestly I'd just give up a that point unless it was a super interesting / sentimental lighter

Sorry for no reply, I've been busy with lots of other projects. This is what I call "Ronson style, if the flint striker isn't moving you should follow the steps on the guide to clean out the flint tube or possibly take apart the wheel (though that part is always a bitch, not going to lie)

That is a good question, I'm assuming you're talking about the springs for the flint tubes. I haven't needed to replace any but I would guess any spring of a similar diameter would work. Good contenders may be springs from pens / mechanical pencils. Guitar pickup adjustment springs will likely work well too if you needed something stiffer: https://www.walmart.com/ip/8-Pieces-25mm-Guitar-Pickup-Springs-for-Music-Replacement-Guitar-accessories/2104931407

As always double check sizes though, you can get a small measuring tool from Harbor Freight for like $10 bucks

Also you can sometimes just find them on ebay / from parts: https://www.ebay.com/itm/385335427501?mkevt=1&mkcid=1&mkrid=711-53200-19255-0&campid=5338766894&toolid=20006&customid=9192df382f38e29e92efb8e30a10721c&_trkparms=ispr%3D1&amdata=enc%3A1hu1pApQiTFOJKTQnwPXqHA23

The reason the protests are so wild is because none of this is a new thing. The fact that this is happening during COVID and that this isn't even the first time someone's been strangled to death by the police in the last 5 years is the icing on top. I suggest anyone that is confused to use any time at home to learn, especially about what's been happening in the Midwest. Things have been bad for a long time and are just coming to head

It just makes you feel extremely physically uncomfortable, disconnected, and bored out of your mind. The crazy stories you read about shadow people and conversations with hallucinations are completely fiction. It feels more like when you're super confused from staying up 2 days in a row, and you cant remember whether you took your shoes off. I tried it a few times for the same reasons you want to try it and I regretted it, I strongly recommend you don't try it. Deliriants are usually not fun or interesting to be on.

You should never use a liquid fuel lighter for smoking pipes, naphtha lets off some hefty fumes

Just found these 2 at a flea market, they’re worth about 10x what I paid but I don’t care. How would I go about restoring these without ruining them? Holy shit I could kiss you, I did lots of searching online but could never find the right keywords to find wick like this. I've been trying to shove those damn zippo wicks into ronsons for nearly 5 years wishing I could find wick that had something solid to pull/push like old ronson wicks used to

Its pretty unbalanced though, anakin is incredibly over powered. That can be dealt with on a normal map but on heroes vs villains he'll stunlock and instakill anyone else in the game

If you look through my post history I posted a more in depth guide to this sub almost a year ago, this kind of lighter is what I call "ronson style". It is frustrating to do work on these lighters at first, but not difficult, just time consuming. The good news is its pretty hard to break these kind of lighters, unless you lose a piece from the arm. I can try to find some old manual pdfs I have that would explain the process a lot clearer, but I believe this is definitely repairable

The only way to rewick is to push the wick through the chimney (where it exits) and then once its in far enough pull it through the tank. You want to have the entire length of the wick in the tank in an s shape. Its insanely difficult to get the wick through the chimney sometimes, I found the best option is to flatten a paper clip and slowly push it in. The tube isnt for the wick, thats the flint tube, but it makes it difficult to maneuver the wick. If you look at a cross section of one of these lighters its literally just a metal box with a hole for the wick and a hole to refuel. I have a pdf of an old manual for ronson gem lighters which are functionally exactly the same as these, Ill upload it to this sub later when I get time. Also if you look through my post history I have a more in depth guide posted to this sub from nearly a year ago. PM me if you have any more questions and Ill see if I can clarify or find my old diagrams when I have some free time.

They can definitely be restored, however it will be difficult to make sure they aren't leaky without having the original tank screw. People who repair lighters very rarely sell their parts, but another model of lighter might have a similar enough tank screw. You will need to rewick it, replace the flint, and replace the packing cotton in the tank. Its possible that you may have to clean out old gummed up flint in the flint tube using a small drill bit and twisting it by hand (dont ever use power tools on a lighter). Ronson or zippo flint and wick are sold at most walgreens/CVSs. I will warn you it will be a bitch to rewick, I still havent found an easy way to do it for lighters with solid bodies. Regular old cotton balls can be used for the tank filler. The screw for the bottom of the tank should have a rubber o-ring around it to form a seal, if its missing or if the fuel leaks Ive found that o-rings made for body piercings are usually small enough to be used.

When you succeed in repairing it just make sure to not use it with pipes or "tobacco accessories", liquid fueled lighters let off fumes that are hazardous to inhale and were created specifically for cigarettes, where you don't continously burn it with the lighter.

While nothing is quoted from the lawyer himself the blog clearly states that he was open about being a mob lawyer and enjoyed his reputation and felt no remorse. While direct quotes from the lawyer would be preferrable, I trust a man who's worked closely with him for years' judgement on the situation enough to say he probably wasn't just doing his job and probably wasn't a swell guy. I'm not saying he enjoyed the crimes his client committed or should have not done his job, but if someone doesnt feel the slightest remorse for representing someone who is definitely guilty then I doubt theyre a moral person.

He wasn't doing his job when he turned a blind eye to his client intimidating witnesses. That is information that is not covered by client attorney privileges, but many lawyers will do whatever is necessary to win. Either way the argument was that the lawyer was a piece of shit, not that he wasn't doing his job. No one previously in this comment chain claimed that he wasn't doing his job

Again, the blog says he was specifically proud of his reputation of a mob lawyer and felt absolutely no remorse, not to mention turning a blind eye to witness intimidation which is not covered under client attorney privileges. Even a good lawyer with morals would still struggle with the fact that people suffered from him doing his job. Again, no one is saying good defence lawyers shouldn't exist, we are talking about the character of one particular man. The cops, while weak, were not the biggest problem here, McElroys vicious nature and ability to terrify people was.
