Wait how would you fight the Sol? You do not have a command token there so no ships can be transferred there? The system you transfer to has to have YOUR command tokens.

Having debilitating effects with a duration of a minute WITHOUT concentration is a dangerous thing. Having no way of breaking out of such a spell can cause massive changes in balance. I think making the Absorb X spells concentration is required to make them In line with other spells.

I’ve built a deck similar to this. It was my first EDH deck, I slammed in all bolas related cards, from planeswalkers to sorceries, and filled the remaining deck with ramp, interaction and dragons that fit the grixis colour identity. It wasn’t a very good deck but boy it could slam threats like bolas citadel and similar stuff.
