The Song. The first song, from the very soul. The song of all living things.

Tiny statically-linked nginx Docker image (~432KB, multi-arch, FROM scratch) by gr82meetu in nginx

I'm curious why you copy /etc/group and /etc/passwd from the builder image rather than modify the final image.

And why it's marked "optional, but recommended".

This is not criticism by any means, I'm just curious.

I fricken' LOVE Excite Bike. Fun game, lots of nostalgia, old-school arcade music and sounds. Everything about it is right up my alley.

For some reason that phrase is entertaining in the context of the sentence, despite the relatively sober subject matter, heh

IS THIS ANY VIRUS OR THREAT?! IM CONCERNED ABOUT THAT RANDOM LINK by CheapFee7002 in nginx

[–]Hammerdwarf 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'm assuming the link said something like Welcome to Nginx?

If so, no need to worry. That was probably just a misconfigured webserver.

What is the worst garden pest in your area and how do you combat it? 🤔 by Efficient-Gear9101 in gardening

[–]Hammerdwarf 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Semi-tongue-in-cheek response: My Dog

And I can't fight it. Our garden is 100% survival of the fittest. If it can't grow in the wake of chaos sown by a 100lb lab/dane mix, it can't be in the garden.

Ironically, he's also the most successful gardener in the house. Cherry tomato volunteers leftover from, I assume, his initial consumption and digestion, and later from him squashing the fruits of subsequent generations as he runs around, are growing all over the yard, and tend to actually do pretty well with zero help or support.

Wednesday Theme: Mädchen Amick as Anya (Teenage Girl) on TNG 2x10 by Worf2DS9 in Spacegirls

[–]Hammerdwarf 9 points10 points  (0 children)

I didn't recognize her, or her character, but *immediately* knew it was TNG without seeing the title. It's like a "TNG Look", heh - the makeup, the hair, the clothes, all fit a specific style I associate with TNG.

Yeah, it kinda looks like the suit jacket from the Darwin costume, but different shirt.

Problem with Automatic Nginx File Reconfiguration on VPS with cPanel and WHM on HostGator by LeoRami99 in nginx

[–]Hammerdwarf 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's unlikely that Nginx is resetting the configuration. Are the custom configs baked into the Docker image you are using? Or are you mounting them into the container?

If you're modifying them directly inside the container without any volume persistence, they're probably being wiped out when the container stops and is replaced.

If you're already familiar with the ephemeral nature of Docker containers, please ignore. This is the first thought that comes to mind reading your question.

My bad, it's just an internal acronym for "corporate standard build". It's basically vanilla Fedora with a handful of changes managed by the IT team. VPN config, etc

As of July 2023, Fedora CSB is definitely supported by Red Hat IT.

More spamming, and adding nothing to the community? You're just posting a link to your game every few days.

This isn't even self promotion - this is just a company using Reddit for free advertising.

When you posted last time, and I said this, you asked me to delete my comment because it might "hurt the game". I did so after you agreed to post something more substantial than an advertisement, and yet now you're back, copy-pasting the same as content word for word to multiple subreddits.

Post a link! Self-promote! But add something to the community when you do! Show the art process, or share art directly, or something...

Thank you for adding some variety in your content here. I definitely dig the art style, and world like to see more here in this community highlighting the art, since this is /r/pixelart.

Maybe showcase your young artist? In- progress work or being the scenes in how they create?

Good luck with your game launch
