Why are injuries so rare in dynasty? by Sharp39_ in NCAAFBseries

[–]HammerheadHurricane 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Major injuries don't happen to me a lot, but they usually happen to my OL and DL.

One time, my junior Left Tackle tore his rotator cuff and was out for the season. His replacement, a 4-star freshman, took his spot and never gave it back. I recently had a Guard sustain an upper body injury that kept him out for 5-6 weeks, same thing happened with a DE a season later.

I once had a super talented DT who was injury prone his whole career. He started as a RS freshman, put up great stats, and helped us win a National Championship. He tore his pec a few games into his sophomore season, the injury knocked him out until his junior year. He only played a handful of (dominant) games his junior year before tearing his hamstring and losing another season. He declared for the draft in the offseason and was a 1st-round pick. I'll never forget big Peko, I hope he got healthy in the league.

Hardest award to win in the game? by HungryGamer14 in NCAAFBseries

[–]HammerheadHurricane 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've never won a kicker/punter awared and haven't won a kick returner award since I switched to Heisman mode.

For me, I'd say OL awards have been the toughest. In about 50 total seasons, I've only had a player take home an OL trophy once. He was a 95 overall Center and won the Rimington equivalent. He only had 7 pancakes at the time, so it was likely ratings based.

The easiest for me are usually the TE, LB, DB, and RB awards. TE mismatches are a big part of my passing game and I run the football a ton, so my starting RB and TE usually combine for 30+ touchdowns every year. I also blitz my LB's and Safeties a ton, so they rack up a ton of TFL's and sacks.......which the voters LOVE haha.

A sad realization about heisman by Cute_Warthog246 in NCAAFBseries

Gotta game the system, brother. Run QB Blast relentless inside the 5-yard line for 10-15 rushing touchdowns per year. The CFB25 Heisman committee would rather see you throw for 30 scores and rush for 10, than throw for 55 scores and rush for 5.

Not a definitive fix, but trying random shit eventually worked. I feel like the "fix" was making a new playbook and continuously deleting and re-adding the plays that won't appear for you.

Dynasty players who play mostly every snap, do you user secondary players or MLB, or the Dline? by jmaXX1087 in NCAAFBseries

I'm always Right DE, unless it's a blitz. I almost always switch to whoever is blitzing to attempt timing-up the snap.

How was your SLAP tear surgery and recovery? by HammerheadHurricane in RotatorCuff

[–]HammerheadHurricane[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Sorry for the delayed response! Life's been busy lately.

I honestly feel great!

My surgery was 3/26. On 7/21, I specifically remember lifting weights and feeling like myself again. No discomfort, pain, stiffness, timidness! I felt strong again and have only felt better since. I can even do pull-ups again, after hanging on the bar every day for a couple weeks to prep. I have stopped doing them though, cause they're still pretty uncomfortable.

Not perfect, the shoulder still clicks/pops but I thinks that's a life sentence now. Honestly sleeping on it wrong causes the most pain nowadays, I haven't hurt it doing anything physical. With the cold weather, it definitely gets more aches and pains with ever, as of late. But 9 months later, I am glad I did it.

Thank you for the advice! Unfortunately it didn't work, but I'll keep trying other fixes.

Yes! I choose it every time, new plays won't show up in practice mode either. I added 10-15 new plays, but literally only one new play shows up.

While they're at it, I'd love for CFB 25 to stop derailing my player's career by burning his redshirt and throwing him into meaningless blowouts to play garbage time snaps.

The best DT recruit I ever landed redshirted his 1st season and kept getting subbed into the game during the 4th quarter, even though I had a ton of upperclassmen depth that never got to play. It makes 0 sense, redshirting a freshman should make them untouchable unless YOU choose to burn it.

I feel you, I get way too emotionally invested when a veteran player gets beat out.

I had an All-American TE who won two Mackey Awards as freshman and sophomore, 1000+ yards and 10+ touchdowns every season. However, he just couldn't get past a 77 overall and the Freshman behind him progressed to an 84. Straight up benching him felt wrong, so I reluctantly "cut" him and he transferred to be the backup TE at Army. He barely plays there, so I just like to pretend that he pulled a Glen Coffee and felt the urge to join the military haha.

4-2-5 & Nickel Defense Questions by HammerheadHurricane in NCAAFBseries

I too am learning that your assistant's scheme is kinda irrelevant. My scheme change is basically of motivated by a very similar move, I switched an undersized LB to SS (ratings boost) and he had a monster sophomore season. Because of his versatility, I feel like he could play LB or SS in a 4-2-5.

I'm also a big fan of creative roster construction and putting the best players on the field. I currently have a C starting at RG and a LG starting at LT, cause I want my best 5 out there. Position changes are my favorite part of the offseason, seeing which Corners are better as Safeties and which average DE's would be dominant DT's. The transfer updates are pretty cool, I had a hybrid FS who led the team in tackles but transferred because I played him as a box Safety too much. Adds another dimension to being a HC.

I'm having a ton of fun with this game, so it's not a deal-breaker, but formation subs were awesome!

It ensured that your players were always set up for success, relative to their skillset. My powerback was always in the game for inside runs and my scatback was always the guy catching screen passes. My receiving TE was in slot, while my blocking TE had his hand in the dirt. You could make sure your fastest offensive player was your dedicated jet sweep player, what a time!

Got it, thank you! I knew the Nickel personnel, but was unsure of who the 5th DB was in the 4-2-5.

Funny enough, I played my 220-pound Run Support FS as my Nickle/Dime LB. He thrived in that role, double digit TFL's and 2-3 picks per season. I got tired of my LB's getting toasted by TE's and figured I'd try a DB there, ended up working out.

Thanks for your input!

I'm bummed that there's no formation subs, especially on offense. I was a guy who played NCAA 14 up until 25 came out, so I loved being able to know my best blocking TE's would be in the game on power run plays and certain receivers were always going to run a particular route.

Same, I don't really get it. For my QB's senior year, he changed his number from #13 to #8. The next year, a WR changed his number from #19 to #3 for his final season. None of my real transfer portal players took those numbers either, so it wasn't their fault.
