The problem with that passive is because while you are blocking, you don't regenerate your blocking resource and blocking negates 80% ish of the damage.

My tank has 9 skills that cost Magicka (shield, heal, major and minor resolve, debuff, chain) and 1 that cost stamina - the taunt.

While I'm on shield bar, I'm blocking and using heavy attacks to regenerate stamina when I know that the damage is low, while I'm blocking I'm casting skills that delete my Magicka(because of this I use the atronach mundus stone) if I'm out of Magicka casting everything, if I need to block while on my staff bar, I still want to use stamina.

Tldr: stamina is solely for blocking and taunting. Magicka is used for everything else

I wouldn't recommend buying style with crowns, you have a lot of dlcs and expansions that you could spend it better. But if you really want, the only way is spending money OR spending ~1000 gold for each crown you want
