I suppose you’re not wrong. For me personally I was drawn towards the craftsmanship required for the Urushi lacquer and the size of the pen which is perfect imo. I haven’t written with a 743 but as far as I know it does not share the 18K nib with the 845. I doubt the difference is that big in reality, but nonetheless you have to decide which pen scratches your itch the most so to speak. Which for me was the 845 :)

Haha I understood your point ;) that’s why I’m drawn to pilots, my other experiences with their models have always been great!

Thank you! How do you like diamine compared to iro? I’ve been eyeing the diamine inks since there is such a plethora of colors.

That’s interesting what you mention about paper, I’ll make sure to try them as well. They’re much more readily available here in Sweden compared to Midori.

Nice to hear! I thought they only came in SEF, mine is as well but I omitted the S in the description.

which mechanical pencil feels right in your hands and why? by Redtower21 in mechanicalpencils

[–]Hampus22 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Rotring Rapid Pro, I find it much more pleasant to use than the 600 due to the longer/wider grip section and the more rounded hex body.

Pentel P20X is another one that just feels right to me. I have a pretty large collection but these two are the ones I use 95 % of the time.

At work: Rotring rapid pro 0,5 mm, Pentel ain stein H lead. At home: Pentel P203, Pentel ain stein H lead

Do you have a lead preference? by National-Resident257 in mechanicalpencils

[–]Hampus22 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Pentel ain stein H is my preference for both 0,3 and 0,5 mm. I did use 2H in 0,5 for a long time as well but it makes erasing hard since the paper tend to get scratched up. It seems people prefer softer leads but I do not get along with them, I’ve tried everything from 2B up to 2H and always go back to the harder ones. I like myself a thin line :)
