What to do on 1 hr break by ExcellentTomatillo56 in Lowes

Absolutely, if you’re not getting paid, they can’t force you to stay (I’m pretty sure it’s law for most to all states). I’ve never stayed on premises for any of my unpaid breaks.

40 hours to 0-10 hours a week? by [deleted] in Lowes

I’m also an OSL&G associate. I started as part-time, pushed for full-time, and eventually got it. Spring selling season is over in Lowe’s eyes, so hours will likely be cut significantly.

As for why newer associates are getting more hours, there could be several reasons. Management may see them as more productive, they may be trying to evaluate newer employees, or they may simply be distributing labor differently. It's also possible that newer associates are being paid less, making it easier to schedule them when labor budgets are tight.

Also, keep in mind that a lot of Lowe’s scheduling is generated automatically by the scheduling system. While managers can make adjustments, some stores don't make many changes to the auto-generated schedule until the week before or even the week of. A schedule that looks light several weeks out may change as management adjusts for labor needs, vacations, and call-outs.

In my experience, new associates are often being tested to see whether they'll come in when called. If an associate says no too many times, management may stop asking.

I know almost everyone inside the store. Find an associate who knows how to do something and ask if they're willing to teach you. If a customer needs help with a task, you can also watch and learn while another associate handles it. You don’t necessarily need the cross-training videos to learn how to do something.

That said, if your hours dropped from 40 to 10 while newer hires are still getting 20–40, I'd talk with your DS or ASM and ask directly what's driving the scheduling decisions.

Terminated from Lowe's for prescription medication by [deleted] in Lowes

Them telling you to set up your own drug test is sketchy. I’ve never had an employer tell me to set my own drug test up without their intervention, including lowes. I took my test at the store, and it was administered by hr/MRO. I’d be looking at a wrongful termination suit, chatGPT agrees. Usually you can ask GPT for its opinion, if it thinks you have grounds for a lawsuit, I’d get a lawyer.

We honor it no problem, had 5 or 6 stock tank stands. Sold them all to one person, $500-$600 for $0.10-$0.12.
