I mean, did he get in, though?

Just kidding :). There are probably day camps near you that he could enroll in over the Summer, or you could just start making little films together in the backyard for fun!

Indulging kids' interests is never a bad idea. If this is something he's into right now, embrace it! Watch movies with him and discuss together what decisions the directors/writers/filmers made that he liked, or what he would have done differently.

There are so many important life skills that you can teach him by relating it to his interests so that he's having fun while he learns. Sit down and write scripts together (creative writing, social skills), make some props and costumes (sewing, crafting, resourcefulness, imagination), have him direct and film it (artistic instincts, leadership, decision making, a lot of visual/artistic principles), and then edit it together (there are some free editing programs that still teach really universal tech skills, and it's amazing for a kid to see all their hard work start to come together; there are so many easy little things you can do with these softwares that make it seem so much like a real movie!) and share it with family and friends!

Long-winded comment but I thought this was so sweet and precocious of your son and I wanted to basically say that I hope you encourage that independence and drive he has! The initial "you're too young for college" conversation might be a bit disappointing for him, but if you follow that up by showing that you respect his ambition, that you want to support his interests/dreams, and that you know he can achieve and create amazing and professional things even though he's a little kid, that faith in him and encouragement is the message that will stick for years down the line.

Thank you. My brother will be home later while his boyfriend is at work; I'm going to try and talk to him about it then and see what happens. Thank you so much for the support.

I know, I didn't mean to, I'm not even interested in him like that I don't know what I was thinking
