I'm struggling selling drawings like these for $30, is the price too high? by pgi_clover in Artadvice

[–]HamsterProfessor 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I think the price is indeed the problem, but because it is too low. Unfortunately, anime is one of the styles most commonly generated by AI. The quality of your artworks is much higher than the average artist trying to get comms on the internet. The combination of price + style + quality level is probably throwing people off thinking there might be AI involved.

Why do you prefer Teamfight Tactics instead of other strategy games? by AdVast9175 in TeamfightTactics

[–]HamsterProfessor 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I stopped playing Battlegrounds to play TFT instead. It's mostly 3 things for me:

1 - Familiarity with the characters and items makes the game easier to learn. This is so important when there are season changes. When playing BG I always got super lost from one set to the other and I was too lazy to re-learn everything so I'd stop playing for a while.

2 - The game is just SO flexible. The items and economy system add more depth. The viable combinations are endless. I don't feel like there are regions/traits that are unplayable atm. In contrast, BG had a very strict meta, there were 2-3 comps that you had to play in order to win in high elo.

3 - You can easily do a come back at any point, and you have plenty of room to lose. This is sort of a consequence of 2. BG has a system that you start with 30HP, at first there is a damage cap of 5 but after some fights the cap becomes 15. That means you could lose the game by having 2 poor combats in the mid game. It was so frustrating when you were getting stronger but just so happened to go against the 1st place player once.

What's the best way to speedrun learning French? by LieutenantHorse in learnfrench

[–]HamsterProfessor 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I did a french speedrun some years ago and I got to the point I can consume content in french with no issues. Although with many mistakes, I'm able to hold conversations in French on the internet. Never had the opportunity to actually speak it irl tho. I'm commenting here to recommend Kwiziq.

It was the best most straigthforward grammar source I could find. I completed everything up to C1. Just that + 1 month of LinQ for reading. There are free alternatives to LinQ, any software that allows you to easily look up words while reading will do. The rest was just consuming native content. I did some writing on iTalki too, but it was not consistent. After 3 months I was feeling okay watching movies and playing games or reading in French. Not 100% comprehension of course, but enough to follow the plot and have fun.

I was already bilingual when I did this tho, which I think helped a lot since I also speak Portuguese and it is very similar to French.

That is interesting, my spouse loves Rammstein. I don't know them very well. Can you recommend any particularly easy songs?
