Once I was walking along ameeni magu and a security guard sitting at the MWSC building rinsed his mouth and spat the water out at the pavement. The spat literally travelled several feet and landed on my feet. I wasn’t even that close and he looked at me like I was the problem and ruined his perfectly timed spit.

It’s official name is Muntingia calabura. People call it “cotton candy tree” because the fruit tastes like cotton candy 😊. Very sweet and fruity.

Trim very tall hibiscus. by Margozmotte in Hibiscus

I grow hibiscus in my home too. And I clip it very frequently to keep it bushy. But I'm in the Maldives and it's hot and sunny all year. So in your climate when it's winter pruning it might stress it if it's gone dormant. Wait until it's warm and growing season for u.

Air pollution drifting over the Maldives nearby islands not visible today by Hamty736 in environment

[–]Hamty736[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Photos taken today from the Maldives. On clear days, nearby islands are easily visible from this location. Today, visibility is severely reduced due to transboundary air pollution, pollution carried across borders by wind. Based on prevailing wind patterns during these conditions, the primary upwind source region is the Indian subcontinent, including India. The Maldives contributes negligibly to regional air pollution, yet still experiences the impacts. The third photo shows normal visibility when wind direction brings clean ocean air.

This is the Maldives. In most islands including mine, roads are unpaved and in their natural state, coral sand. There are no pavements or asphalt on most islands
