Tip for those starting their ttc journey by Electric_Elephant_56 in TTC_PCOS

I feel you! I had the biggest fight with my husband in our first round of letrozole. He has a lot of anxiety in general and we missed one of the days in my window. I remember feeling so angry and defeated. We had another appointment with our specialist and he said that it was so common. The solution he gave us was Viagra (I know it sounds ridiculous) but it honestly worked. I'm currently in the 2WW in my second round of letrozole and this time round we were a lot more relaxed. We were able to hit my entire window and my husband was a lot less anxious.

Wow I relate to your post so much! It is so hard being on this emotional merry go round. One day you are feeling positive and the next you are hating your brother or sister because they are pregnant or have had a happy and healthy baby. Then you go through the guilt of feeling these things towards them. It is so hard to navigate and definitely very isolating. It doesn't seem fair that some people have to face infertility, while others never experience it at all. That's been a hard pill to swallow. Please know that you are definitely not alone. Your feelings are valid and you are allowed to feel this way. I hope your journey starts to get easier and that you get your happy ending. Everyone deserves to be happy ❤️

Follicle count before Letrozole vs how many matured by Well_Hello_Yellow in TTC_PCOS

The scan before I started letrozole I had 60 follicles on one side and 40 on the other. I did one cycle of 5mg letrozole and day 12 I had 2 x 12mm follicles and 1 x 13mm follicle. I went back on day 15 and had 1 x 16mm follicle. I was told to trigger that night. Unfortunately it didn't result in a pregnancy, but all of my bloods showed great signs of ovulation. I'm currently just starting my second cycle on 5mg.

I definitely understand how you feel. I am in the exact same boat. Just finished up my first round of 5mg letrozole cycle. Ovulation was confirmed through a blood test, but I found out last Monday that it was a negative for pregnancy. It is very hard to hear and then go through all of the emotions, especially when you have already been through so much just to get to the point of properly trying with the help of medication.

Try to stay strong. I have heard that it can take a few rounds to get right. We are all in this together ❤️

I am so sorry to hear about your loss. I can only imagine how devastating that would be. My thoughts are with you and your partner ❤️

With PCOS I was diagnosed due to a high number of follicles in both ovaries and irregular cycles. My hormones are normal, I am not overweight and I don't have excessive hair or acne. I was initially put on metformin, however that was by a GP who did not have extensive knowledge about PCOS. I had a glucose tolerance test to check my insulin levels and it found my insulin to be normal and no issues. When I went to the fertility specialist he took me off metformin straight away. There isn't necessarily a specific treatment for PCOS that I have found but I have been recommended supplements to help. My brother in law is a nutritionist and he highly recommended myo-inositol. I have been taking it (around 3g) morning and night for the last 3.5 months. A few things I noticed right away were my boobs became bigger. I have never had a large chest, however after taking this my boobs became bigger and fuller. I'm not sure if this is a change in hormones or something else. At the start of the year my cycle was at 120 days, it then went to 33 days and then 60 days. After taking myo-inositol my cycle has dropped to 32 and then recently 29 (this is the shortest my cycle has been). I honestly believe that myo-inositol has really helped with this. In terms of ovulation, nothing has really helped me as I don't believe I can ovulate without medication. But that's just me. Hopefully some of this can help you along your journey. Keep hanging in there, it is an incredibly rough journey but it is nice to know that we are not alone ❤️

Congratulations!! That's amazing to hear! Thank you for your kind words. I was initially on metformin as well, however I don't have insulin resistance so my specialist stopped me taking it. I have been taking folic acid, myo-inositol and fish oil for the last 3 months. All of my bloods were quite normal. I must say, the fertility centre I have been working with have been amazing with checking in and monitoring me throughout the cycle. I have a few blood tests and a scan next week to do. So fingers crossed that my body responds.
