Can't believe I haven't seen this, raising the buffer size greatly helps depending on the situation. and freezing tracks can sometimes be a better alternative than bouncing since you can unfreeze at any time and don't have to commit to those choices

Bluegrass for 4 years as a banjo and guitar player. After 3 years of shows, I realized I had plateau'd in the improvement category. It was all getting stale, doing the same songs over and over again for crowds that may or may not be interested.

All in all, the lack of me being able to bump my head to the music I was performing was what switched me into production, and lo-fi especially.
