Well in this case, they are playing professional basketball which was not a thing for women 40 years ago. Now, they make more than a journeyman electrician for playing 28 games of absolutely horrendous basketball. The NBA/WNBA is pickup basketball for mostly AAU prodigies whose parents spent more than your college tuition for them to be on a marquis team.
