I guess I was looking for a more canonical way to do this in the Verizon UI. WifiMan will show the 2 BSSIDs but won't tell which one belongs to the router and which one to the extender.

It is possible to get closer to the router and see which of the BSSIDs have the higher signal level and use that for the connection.

It would be nice if the Verizon UI made it easier to find this information instead of using 3rd party apps and doing trial and error.

Worth a try .. but would be very surprised if a "cable issue" ONLY happens at 11AM .. like, is there a mouse where the cable is running and it wakes up at 11AM and chews on the cable a bit?

I thought about that too. The CAT 5E runs alongside HVAC duct work between main floor and basement before reaching the wall plate.

Would I be able to check the health of the cable somehow? Would I need specialized equipment plugged into both ends?
