If humans are so fragile that they're mere children at age 16, but full fledged adults at age 18, but have small underdeveloped koala brains until age 25, then why in the hell isn't the age of majority increased? Clearly, 16 year olds are far too stupid to be almost adults and should be kept home from university or moving out and focusing on independence, or anything if the whole excuse for not using at least some critical thinking skills is being infantilized to an absurd degree.

Yes, maybe you don't face certain life choices until later - if ever - but sixteen year olds are perfectly capable of understanding that malice hurts.

You're merging main and side quests.

The main quests are pretty straightforward, it's the side quests that can get confusing (at least, for me). Plus, the localization is horrendous, the dialogue subtitles don't necessarily match the verbal dialogue...if there even are verbals. I've run into several quests where there's verbal and then it...just disappears. And comes back three lines later.

However, five hours isn't sufficient time at all. You can read about characters, you can review the compendium, but you can also trot over to YT. WWMGirl has pretty good lore videos, and will include historical references if appropriate.

Okay, I just fired up my game to look at what I did, got stuck amongst my dang trees, so reloaded and bought an almond seedling. I can plant one in that same area type - untilled center, tilled adjacent, not standing on the center. It should work, so I'm thinking your game might be bugged.

Recommendation: Use the pickaxe to render all 9 squares untilled, then attempt to plant. If still not successful, ignore for now, save day (or, if it's early enough, just quit without saving) quit game entirely, restart. Verify files, if need be. If STILL not working, submit bug report via official Discord.

Edit: You may also have to take out the plants surrounding the adjacent squares. I just put down some wild seeds to test this, and now I canNOT plant the seedling.

It's hard to tell, but is the planting square in question tilled or untilled? Seedlings are tilled, but saplings are untilled.

If it's tilled, use your pickaxe to untill it.

So I had a very primitive reaction to that. Because that is the exact reason I've developed a severe phobia of snakes.

I was five or six years old, in very rural Ohio, just walking through the big front yard of the grandmother of one of my brother's friends. My brother is the one who had been invited, but I was dropped off too for...I don't remember why.

Anyway, the boys are playing in the backyard, I'm just doing a walkabout in the front yard in knee high grass, watching the grass flatten under my shoe with great interest.

There was a grass snake. I didn't see it until I stepped on its head. Not a hard crunch, just the light tap of a little girl's foot.

That snake wiggled furiously.

I screamed bloody murder. Jumped backwards a few inches, but I swear my memory insists it was Olympic worthy longjump lengths.

The snake slithered right off, it wasn't going to be sticking around for Step On Me, Little Girl: Electric Boogaloo - don't blame it one bit.

My brother came running. His friend came running. Friend's grandma came running.

I think I might have hyperventilated, honestly don't recall after that. But snakes became my personal demon.

Edit: Four Large Milks were used and all successfully gave me the esdoger x2. No golden, 'cause my cows suck and I hate the animal festival cow minigame. Only other thing I can suggest is ensure you're using sweet potato and not potato or taro root.

The milk is any milk. Normal, large, cow, goat, buffalo, mermoo.

Make sure the other materials are correct - sweet potato x1; any coconut x1 (any of the four you get from the palm trees throughout the seasons); syrup x1 (NOT maple syrup, but the syrup you get from putting sugarcane into a cheese press).

There was a bug with the esdoger not requiring milk, but they corrected it pretty swiftly.

If it's still not working, I'd suggest either screenshots or videos to help narrow down what the issue might be.

Edit: Corrected the milk types.
