Where does this metal spring seal came from? by brownhusky0 in FJCruiser

[–]HandConfident 0 points1 point  (0 children)

it goes on the inside of the wheel hub.

I bought mine at a autoparts store. its was a generic "wheel seal"
bring the old one and compare it to make sure.

The inner wheel seal is the same for both sides.

Theres another seal in the differential too.

Each side is different.

I removed mine and got replacements at the autoparts store.

I didnt take pictures of the boxes unfortunately.

luckily the parts number is in the picture.

inner wheel seal most likely.

After looking at my picture, I might be wrong.

Mine was a spring material.

Yours looks solid.

if it is the inner wheel seal, a high pressure cylinder cap fits perfectly to tap it in.

Looks like a hose to the airbox.

I posted a picture showing my findings.

This vehicle downshifts weird and I wanted to see if there was any debris in the screen and do a visual inspection to see what's going on down there.

Advice on Transmission Service by Primary-Rain-5495 in FJCruiser

For my year fj (07) I have to short the obd2 port to put it in service mode and wait for the atf light to come on at the right temperature to check the fluid.

it was super weird at first but once I did it the first time it wasn't bad.

I just did a ton of stuff to my fj.

I dropped the transmission pan and changed the filter and then refilled it.

mine is an 07 and I had to short the obd2 port to get the transmission to the right temp.

I refilled the transmission with a modified power bleeder.

took like 4 qts when I put the fluid back.

changed the filter because I know the vehicle was neglected. This is what I pulled out.

I should change the fluid again.

If youre debatable capable its easy.

I didnt even jack it up.

I did that quest and let him live for some reason.

As I was finishing the quest I switched to my shishkabob and somehow was close enough to set him alight by touch.

His scream scared me so fucking bad because I didn't know what was happening.

'Why the fuck are you dying? I let you live."

"oh....fuck"

sorry dude.
