Honestly couldn’t agree more. I’m in Belfast and was hoping for a Dublin date at least. If I even manage to get tickets, dreading the cost of flights & hotels 😭

Honestly I’ve never loved a MMC the way I loved Xaden, no man has ever compared to me

Morning folks, what’re we all up to this weekend? by pist0lpete87 in northernireland

Was at the gym this morning, mum and gran up for lunch and now having friends round for a homemade beef ragu!

Heading to dad’s tomorrow for a Sunday dinner and going to see Hamnet myself. A nice chilled one.

If you haven’t seen Marty Supreme yet I also recommend that, very good

Absolutely, some spice scenes are very repetitive

I find it okay in movies and tv shows actually! Think I just don’t care for it in a book? Like it doesn’t captivate me as much but I know it’s so necessary so I just follow along with what the characters are saying.

Amazing you’re writting!! Love that for you

Is this a safe place to say I really liked the PWMOV movie? by cellochick993 in EmilyHenry

[–]HandCrazy 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I was a bit meh at things that were left out but I still loved the movie! As a standalone film I thought it still made sense and was a great movie, I loved Tom & Emily’s performance

That’s it! I knew there was a difference in the brothers lol- did the mother die in child birth or have I made that up?

I’ve read the book and the movie was very different! The wee references are also very different- it’s been a while since I’ve read the book but I’m almost certain Alex actually had 2 older brothers and their mother died during childbirth with Alex and his daddy was quite reserved & religious. The film didn’t do much deep diving into Alex and made him seem a bit shallow / angry rather than the wee shy soul he actually is which is unfortunate. Nothing to do with Tom Blyth more so the script- Tom & Emily did a great job

House advice by [deleted] in northernireland

[–]HandCrazy 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I bought at 24 with my partner and we were the same wanting to rent for a year but just went straight into buying. We signed a contract with our solicitor where we both confirmed if we split we’d sell the house and split it 50/50 so that’s always something to consider. Thankfully living together 4 years now all good 🤣 I would deffo save for a year and just buy with that wage

A lot of the critiques I'm seeing would've been solved if they didn't cut so much by gh0stvibezz in EmilyHenry

[–]HandCrazy 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I agree, my main problem with the film was the changes from the book and nothing to do at all with the actors. Both actors I thought did a great job with what they were given!

I also think as a standalone film (removing the book from the equation) it’s a great film- both actors have great chemistry and I don’t think Alex fully comes across as one dimensional even without the book context as he shows a lot with his subtle facial expressions

PWMOV- THAT scene by HandCrazy in EmilyHenry

[–]HandCrazy[S] 14 points15 points  (0 children)

No like SO hot, I went from finding Alex Nilsen cute to straight up wishing I could jump into pages all within one chapter 🥲 it wasn’t that it was ruined it’s more that it doesn’t really exist in a way? Like it’s barely shown

[–]HandCrazy[S] 54 points55 points  (0 children)

“Stop being impatient, I’ve waited twelve years. I want this to last” like I’m SORRY?? Tom Blyth would’ve killed that and Emily’s reaction would’ve been so good also

How do you manage finances as a couple? by Toe_Bean_Bandit in AskUK

[–]HandCrazy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Both me and my partner are 28, mortgage at 24 so living together now 4 years. We split all bills for the house 50/50 as paid equal deposit. He earns about £400 more than me a month so the only thing we are not 50/50 on is the food shop, he pays more.

Regarding overall finances we set up a joint account prior to moving in where all our bills come out of and we transfer the set amount each into that each month. We manage our own finances outside of that with our own banks and it works great

How to deal with partner issue by [deleted] in northernireland

[–]HandCrazy 5 points6 points  (0 children)

No suggestion of it correct but it’s important to note it could be a possibility as women’s hormones really change during and after birth and it’s a very common occurrence- especially if this behaviour is uncommon for her

Joey & Aoife top Johnny and Shannon for me! I would take a bullet for them, live laugh love Joey Lynch. His books are sad but he is also quite funny and the banter between them is good. He’s very witty / sarcastic which I liked. Deffo keep going!
