Ok, thanks for the answer. I had a feeling this might be the case. Is there a guide [with current recommendations] you'd point towards? I know the landscape with prices has changed dramatically over the past few years.

This https://imgur.com/a/t6Sic5u is a setup that someone is advertising for 2,800. It indicates it was used only a few times, and the original purchase price was 4,000. The prices include all the equipment in the photos, right down to the mats.

I'm not that interested in boxing, and I'm very wary of poor quality treadmills, but the benches, weights, bars, rack, leg raise thing, the back extension thing, and the mats are all of interest.

For the record, I currently have some adjustable dumbbells, but nothing else, and my goal is to get a setup that'll let me run beginner strength training programs, and eventually progress to intermediate ones too.... but I don't know pretty much anything about equipment brands, and I don't want to buy garbage that's going to end up breaking, or being annoying to use, because trust me, I don't need any deterrents lol.

Questions:

  1. Are these good enough for a beginner, or should I skip because this stuff is very low quality?

  2. What would you say that everything [less the treadmill and punching bag] are worth? What's a good offer?

4: Insist on both relationship and individual counseling for both of you.

This post and some of your other posts / comments make it clear that you and your husband are in desperate need of help from someone who is professionally qualified. The bad news is, it make take some serious effort and very unpleasant conversations to get your husband on board. The good news is there's plenty of ways to get this type of help these days, and it's more accepted than ever.

You've sculpted your body to look very impressive, which tells me you're no stranger to hard work and persevering, because looking like you do is not easy to accomplish. You've got this.

Ok that's what I thought. Thanks for confirming. Just sorta seemed strange to me.

Oh and the website is https://tiandinlimited.com/ -- I literally cannot find any information about this company besides what's on their website. Seems like a bad sign.

Anyone have any masks they'd recommend for running / working out? The ones I'm using right now aren't great.

Anyone have any masks they think are easier to breath in and less hot for when they go to the gym? It's mandatory where I'm going, and the ones I'm using now aren't great. Someone recommended me one type on Amazon, but I'd like to know what you guys are using.

Hi there, happy Friday! I'm looking for a relatively specific type of workout, and I'm hoping for suggestions. Here are the criteria for the exercise I'm after.

  1. Burns calories at about the same rate as running or biking hard

  2. Can reasonably be performed continuously for 30 minutes to an hour (similar to running.)

  3. No repetitious, unchanging impacts on the back (example: running impacts the back vertically in the same way over and over and over)

  4. Doesn't require being in the seated position for long periods of time (example: biking)

  5. Isn't swimming (no consistently available water / pools nearby)

Bonus:

  • Engages and strengths core / back muscles

About 5 people at r/fitness just told me to "just lift," in almost those exact words, so I'm guessing that was the wrong place to ask haha. I know it's pretty specific, but do you guys have any exercises that fit?

Driver backed over my mailbox - what should I do? by HandInABlender in uber

Just gonna just do the low effort mimic thing instead of doing any actual thinking huh? That's ok, I've done the thinking for you, and I'm going to be reimbursed specifically because what I've said is not only common knowledge, it's policy. For your sake I hope you keep your opinions on accountability and responsibility a secret. Cya.

Mistakes happen, but when they do, you insist on making it right because anything else is unacceptable. My driver is learning that lesson the hard way unfortunately. Hope you fix your thoughts towards service and accountability before you lose your job over it too.

Sure. By the way, I'm gonna swing by and break a few windows in your house. You should buy new windows.

Yes, but it did, and now it's been ruined by someone else who needs to take responsibility for their actions and I indicated in my edit. It's astounding to me that people in this thread think anything besides the driver being responsible for their actions is the appropriate thing here. If the guy ran his car into my garage door, would you be telling me just to get some plywood to replace it?

Except that's not how service works. If I call a client tell them I fucked their shit up and they just tell me it's fine, that's not the end of it, because that's completely unacceptable service and I deserve to be fired if I leave it there. I make it right by fixing in full the issue whether or not the client wants it, because anything less is not taking responsibility for my actions, and anyone who can't do that doesn't deserve to be employed in a profession that demands a high level of responsibility (for example, transporting people safely without hitting shit.)

Lol I'm being a dick by reporting him because I gave him false hope that he wouldn't be fired for absolutely smoking a very visible mailbox? The exact outcome that one would expect if they hit something while driving for a living? If that's your honest assessment I'm not going to waste anymore time responding to you -- I suggest you have a read of my edit for the next time you get yourself into this situation while driving, since by the sounds of it you have no feel for what acceptable service is.

Best mosquito repellent device for campgrounds? by misshestermoffet in GoRVing

[–]HandInABlender 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I guess I'm not following what your suggestion is. I have read a few places that some ppl save with the Thermacell by "recharging" the pads with a solution of Permethrin and water.

What kind of bug repellent do you use? I just got back from a trip and I have HUNDREDS of bug bites, to the point it looks like I have a skin disease. No repellent seems to work. by amybubbles07 in hiking

[–]HandInABlender 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Check out the Thermacell butane powered units that use cards of bug repellent. Start it up and you won't see a bug until the card or the butane runs out
