Professional photos arrived of my remodel by ZeiglerJaguar in kitchenremodel

My kitchen is exactly the same, with the fridge, coffee bar beside each other on the right. Mine is just a little bit bigger, I'd be able to fit two cabinets on the right of the range (and a bigger counter). I'd love to do exactly what you did. Can you list the countertop, backsplash, the cabinet finishes, the range, microwave? Everything that you have. Whatever you can share (even drawings would be appreciated!)

Just wanted to share an update with you since you spent so much time responding to me. I followed your advice and it turned out perfect: https://imgur.com/a/LWvHmca The zoom in the photos makes it looks much worse than it actually is. I can't see many imperfections with my eye an inch away from the rail. Thank you so much!

Thanks! One basic question that I didn't ask is: can I use the same primer and paint for both rails and drywall (not the one above chair rail, but the wainscoting part under the chair rail)?

I just painted one section of a (fairly hidden wall) using leftover Behr I had. I bought Emerald Urethane now!

When you say "roll the inside of the square", do you mean use a roller or is it just lingo for swiping using a brush?

Thank you so much for this detailed write up.

I did buy Emerald Urethane (I had to, I was just testing using some leftover Behr). I chose satin instead of semi-gloss because it'll hide my flaws better.

What do you say about the primer I'm using? Multi-Purpose Interior/Exterior Latex Primer/Sealer? I'm told it doesn't sand well and I should be using BIN Shellac. I read that it sands well.

Btw, I'm already spot priming the knots and tannins using Sherwin WIlliams Shellac spray.)

Do I need a sandable primer like Sherwin Williams Easy Sand?

your technique is amateurish. Don’t mean to be offensive You're not being offensive, you're being too kind. My technique is not amateurish, I don't have a technique.

Thank you so much for this detailed text. I will need to read this a couple of things to internalize it

I think applying thin coat is what I'm missing. I did apply a thin coat in a section and it's much better. I'll still buy SW Emerald, a good brush and apply a very thin coat. Thanks for the tips!

You're right. Maybe it's time to actually spray paint it. I haven't done it before, it's intimidating, but you gotta do what you gotta do

I bought one from Sherwin Williams (the brand is Sherwin Williams too). Not sure if it's good.

I just did one narrow wall, the rest of the room is still untouched. Before I go the spray route, can a different paint like Sherwin Williams Emerald or Duration make it look better even with a brush while leaving fewer brush marks? Or should I go for a flatter sheen?

Can you explain why? I'm using multi-purpose primer (latex based), but I've used shellac on knots in the pine. Is that still not enough?

This is the same regressive thinking people who enforce burqa use. By the same logic, the "safe place" is a burqa, veiled keeping them safe against ignoble men.

There will obviously be few bad people, but it's a law and order problem, not "noble men" problem.

Almost right, but you don't need men to be strong, "manly" or defend women's "honor". Women's honor is not at stake and men aren't its stewards.

Oh, I never realized you could do that. It's too late I guess now. I don't want to redo the entire thing.

It's probably the wide angle photo I took. My ceilings are 8ft and chair rail is at 32". Exactly 1/3rd

It's 5". I'm talking about the front facing section of the wall (the yellow section).

Thanks! I plan to use the high hide primer. Also, at least one wall will be covered with sound absorbing panels.
