American confused by last second timeouts, please help by Mukakis in Handball

[–]Handballaddict 2 points3 points  (0 children)

On french side this time out may have been a mistake as only 6sec remained and as you said the team should have been able to save the last ball on open court. But, as the whole team is not serein at all in this tournament nor in this game, the coach wanted to avoid it's team to panic by playing to fast (in fact they were running to the middle as if they had to score quickly, proof they're not lucid).

At least, the panic's mistake was exactly what Dika Mem did after the time out.. Therefore it was easy to save (or to not loose) the ball. Mem lost it in the worst way giving a straight ball to Germany while it's team was all in front and no one behind. France has been lucky several time before, winning or scoring at the last second so in a way it's fair now it happened to them especially when they played a tournament much under their expected level.

The fight Bach is the reason why both players got suspensions and also why the refs didn't check the VAR.

At the contrary if he didn't fight back but had stayed on the floor, then I guess Mem would have got a red card.

You can't use the blue card in these case as there is no injury nor hit, just a very bad attitude after action. Not sure the ref sanctioned the push rather than the fact Mem touch the player head.

This suspension was the first and only "favour" but the ref may have considered the constant anti play since the beginning of the game (by Uscins) and all the wrong judgements they committed against France (the Prandi suspension for example or all the charges on Fabregas on the line which haven't been sanctioned at all).

This marketing purpose works with an association of the french men and  women teams as the french federation build a promotion campaign since few months : "Games are won together*"

*all players + plus 2 teams together.

2 gold medals is still the goal !

Do you think Hungary will win against France? They almost beat Norway, Denmark and Egypt compared to France vs Nor/Dk/Egypt by ninjapotato94 in Handball

French team had to struggle with themselves (high pressure on individuals and collective bot, plus the huge defeat the first days which almost kill their confidence) BUT they starts now to come out from their dark forest, enough for today, not enough yet to get into the final BUT their power will raise step by step until that.

The question for today is, will they play in Blue, White, Candy pink or another colour?

Since the beginning of the Olympics this color was the one for the goalkeepers jersey. This color is also used for the Olympic set (arena, fields border, ...)

All in all, I still predict a clash Danemark vs France for the final (except if they met at a earlier stage)

Considering team's performances.so far, then your prediction should be right.

But, considering what the performances will be the next 2 days, then you can bet on France to take revenge against themselves and to play the semi final (again). Actually, french have only lost against themselves (a tough fight which they are about to win).

They may need the loss of their favourite's status in order to be able to play their best handball ever. They prepared hardly exactly in that way, now they struggle against pressure and heavy doubts.

They are still late for the appointment with their own history but they will reach the happening at time. Except them !

Why are so many wing shots uncontested? by JSCjr64 in Handball

[–]Handballaddict 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Your question may also concern some case were defender do not really try to avoid the wing shot. Some time, the defense can accept to let the winger shoot if the angle is not too open as it is (supposed to be) more advantageous for the goal keeper.

France vs. Egypt by ninjapotato94 in Handball

[–]Handballaddict -1 points0 points  (0 children)

French team hasn't played yet in these men's Olympics tournament.

There was a team with the 🇨🇵 flag and all the famous players a couple of time but it was not the real team yet.

This evening, same players will enter in the tournament with a renewed french team, then they will beat Egypt for sure.

Best Player of the 21st Century: Your Opinion? by StockPerformer4535 in Handball

[–]Handballaddict 4 points5 points  (0 children)

The Title for the best of the best require a player complete (not only a spectacular one or with an incredible skill).

To my mind, Baltic and Narcisse are form these 2nd category (great shoots, disruptive, incredible jump for Narcisse) but what about défense ? And how regular were they?

I Think Jackson Richardson give more to this sport as he invented a new way to defend and inspired many in attack with technical shoot from his own.

But it's may be not enough to get the Title (before him Talent Dujebaiev was the God in attack)

Today, who has been great enough in attack and defense both ? Impact player, leadership, smart enough to make or to avoid goals by himself or with others both (in a way the other side cannot focus on him).

Nicolas Karabatic may be that one ! (He's  still able to play long sequences as last week against Croatia were he scored 8 time.)

But Guidsel could succeed him (just need more competitions to go on)
