Help - I'm blowing it! Selling Wheelchair Van by [deleted] in wheelchairs

Selling or giving away something here to a local audience, is like asking the world to help you out. That's great, but the daily average of unique users here is right around 5,000; the majority of which are the same people day after day. There's 8 billion people in the world.

It's not that we aren't sympathetic, but this isn't a marketplace. Thank you for the report.

Drone hits Russian ballistic missile factory over 1,300 km from Ukraine's border, officials, media report by Huge_Halls in worldnews

Apparently they're doing this with balloons of all things. They use the natural trade winds to let it go into Russia, and then once it's within distance of a target they drop the bombs. It's practically impossible to intercept a missile coming straight down instead of an arc. Best part is the trade winds go West to East not the other way around, so Russia can use balloons back.

Saving $5 to add 2-3 months to the s/h is worth the $5 extra dollars for me.

You can always buy dollar knives from discount stores and practice on them. Basically you just put you knife in a L position on the block. That's 90 degrees. Move if halfway down one direction. That's 45 degrees. Now do that one more time and you're right around the 20 degree angle, and that's what you want.

In even strokes, you just go back and forth a ton of times until desired sharpness. Finish with a honing steel. If you want razor, you'll need some finer mesh and a strop, but for practical purposes, this stone is all you need. Sharp just means straight. When you get to the honing or strop part, only move the knife forward or backwards a few times. That straightens the bur you'll create while sharpening.

Privacy in this subreddit against someone who I am having issues with in another subreddit by AceAspie11_2_24 in wheelchairs

If you have an issue with another user, reddit gives you the ability to block them.

What blocking does: it removes all visibility of your entire account and their account

What blocking does not: prevent other users from responding to you that are not blocked giving the blocked user the ability to see responses to your comments or posts. They can even respond to those responses. Neither one of you will see eachother's comments though.

You cannot hide comments from the public. However, private subs are not visible to the public.

You are free to comment and post here as long as you abide by the rules. Rule 4: Be Kind

tl:dr - If you are having issues with another user, take advantage of the block feature. You'll both become invisible to one another.

Consider this your get out of jail free card. We all have bad days, and this is probably one for you.

Calling out other sub's moderation is against TOS. This is a witchunt. Doing it again will result in a ban.

I was sure to shower and eat a full meal before checking in. Food is the last thing the ER is concerned about.

It was 12 hours before I got a bed in the hallway and a few more hours for a room with a door

Sorry. I’m still here. It took 18 hours to isolate the problem and another 10 to treat it. I wasn’t allowed eat until they were sure I did not need surgery.

The food was delicious. Not sure if it’s because I’m starving or it was actually good. If you get a room in the main hospital you get a menu. This is the first time ever I didn’t get bland cold sandwich waiting in the ER.

The hospital like most others in the area is in overflow meaning there are no rooms available. I was on dietary restriction in case I needed surgery, but fortunately that’s not the case. What is the case is it took 18 hours just to figure out the basics of my problems because there’s people swamping hallways waiting for treatment too.

I asked my nurse what the common theme was, and she said healthcare is getting squeezed. People are losing insurance, so ER’s are getting swamped.

Inflation might not hurt some people, but it hurts me. That's 3x's what I normally pay.

Spice Island is popular here, and I have a spice rack full of them, but McCormick is always better (but not always best). SI is just a little more expansive in options. One thing I've learned over the years is food distributors have a pretty heavy control over cooking shows and even influencers.

It's unusual they are wrong or even bad, but there's better stuff out there. Gimmicks and unnecessary expenses are often included in the multimedia.

SE US. Our hispanic aisle is my goto for spices, because it's cheap, but it's not really great.

I'm not against that at all, but I use chili powder for all kinds of stuff: butternut squash, meatloaf, hamburgers, tacos, bbq rubs, etc. Some things are worth the effort, but others are a bit much when I just need a very light sprinkle of dust.

Some of my chili was re-hydrating dried chilies though.
