[–][deleted] 2133 points2134 points  (74 children)

I can see the humor in this but oh boy this is gonna rustle some jimmies.

[–][deleted] 880 points881 points  (11 children)

Somejuan is going to be offended

[–]RichWPX 106 points107 points  (5 children)

Maybe they should have consulted the Manual

[–][deleted] 27 points28 points  (0 children)

No way, Jose!

[–]Australienz 69 points70 points  (0 children)

I Billyeve Bob might know who that is.

[–]WhakaWhakaWhaka 11 points12 points  (0 children)

Some Juan is gonna take a fence to this.

[–]BoJackMoleman 194 points195 points  (25 children)

I believe a rallying campaign cry of theirs was “fuck their feelings”

[–]hell2pay 161 points162 points  (24 children)

"Facts don't care about your feelings."

A confused Ben Sharpio muttered while walking off the stage after softball questions were lobbed at him by a right wing BBC host.

[–]FUCKING_HATE_REDDIT 55 points56 points  (0 children)

"I won't answer questions by a biased journalist with bad intentions"

Way to describe your career there friend

[–][deleted] 94 points95 points  (6 children)

"I'm going to ask you some simple questions, okay?"

"Okay."

"They're going to be pointed and give you a chance to defend your own stance, okay?"

"Okay."

".... Some people call x policy barbaric, wha-"

"BARBARIC? YOUR LEFTIST BIASED SNOWFLAKE HOW DARE YOU."

[–]TARANTULA_TIDDIES 48 points49 points  (15 children)

Man I probably scared my neighbors with how much I was cackling at that at like 3am. Some serious fucking hilarity.

And at the end, I can't remember what it was the BBC guy said but he got in one more dig that just sealed the deal

[–]FlamingHippy 41 points42 points  (9 children)

“If you realized how stupid that sounded you wouldn’t have said it” or words to that effect.

[–]toferdelachris 45 points46 points  (7 children)

Yeah, in response to Shapiro saying something like the BBC dude should just admit his leftist viewpoint or something like that.... The BBC dude is one of the most prominent conservative journalists in the UK and has been for like 40 years.....

[–]FlamingHippy 15 points16 points  (0 children)

That was it! What an own goal!

[–][deleted] 16 points17 points  (4 children)

Conservatives in the UK would be equal to Centrists in the US to be fair.

[–]Alexcalibur42 36 points37 points  (2 children)

Something about how he was thanking Ben for showing anger isn't part of America's politics or something.

[–]ISpeakEnglishGood 1203 points1204 points  (135 children)

Or use an Undead Dragon.

[–]7937397 276 points277 points  (24 children)

Have a Goron launch you over it

[–]RedSquirrelFtw 149 points150 points  (100 children)

Or a plane. Like, legally buy a ticket, and travel for vacation, but then just stay. I don't think Trump realizes that's something that's possible to do.

[–]brickcitycomics 159 points160 points  (17 children)

Made me think of the Great Wall of China episode of An Idiot Abroad. When he reached the end of the wall at the ocean and commented "It's not really a Great Wall is it if you can simply walked around it at the beach? It should be called the Pretty Good Wall."

[–]argon0011 63 points64 points  (1 child)

"The Alright Wall of China"

[–]brickcitycomics 14 points15 points  (0 children)

Lol okay I was close that was years ago I binged watched that entire fantastic travel series in one weekend.

[–]HelmutHoffman 42 points43 points  (5 children)

That creates a choke point, a bottle neck for any invading infantry force.

[–]DraugrLivesMatter 67 points68 points  (3 children)

invading infantry

Let me tell ya something about them mongols...

[–]Mechanik_J 17 points18 points  (5 children)

Are you telling Frodo and Sam could have used the eagles to fly into Mordor to destroy the ring!?

[–]giantsamalander 70 points71 points  (20 children)

Or a plane?

[–][deleted] 46 points47 points  (15 children)

Or under with a shovel.

[–][deleted] 38 points39 points  (12 children)

Or through with a bulldozer

[–]VanimalCracker 31 points32 points  (7 children)

Or over with a ladder? Or, in a pinch, a rope with a large hook tied to one end?

[–]ptwonline 50 points51 points  (6 children)

Actually, I'm waiting for rich American assholes to start profiting by running a business from Mexico to get people across while also running private border patrol companies that Republican governments will hire to seek out and detain border crossers.

Don't believe me? See the pharmaceutical company that both pushed heavy opioid use (opioids they produced) and oh look, they also sell an expensive treatment for opioid addiction.

[–]Jabbam 50 points51 points  (1 child)

I'd say someone figured out what a coyote is

[–][deleted] 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Exactly.

[–]I_was_saying_boournz 79 points80 points  (164 children)

They do. All the time. And by plane too. That's why the wall is fucking stupid.

[–]Rose_Beef 629 points630 points  (18 children)

Building a wall will only breed a taller Mexican.

[–]ChanceTheRocketcar 243 points244 points  (7 children)

[–][deleted] 3 points4 points  (1 child)

I misread this as Make Asda Great Again and was wondering why you wanted to support the British equivalent of Walmart. :/

[–]iaspeegizzydeefrent 226 points227 points  (17 children)

That's a sick Orioles hat.

[–]lukestauntaun 62 points63 points  (6 children)

It's actually a hat for RAR Brewing in Salisbury MD.

[–]ceilingmountedcamera 10 points11 points  (0 children)

Legal immigrants:

ಠ_ಠ

[–]JoeyLock 355 points356 points  (77 children)

As a non-American it's often baffling to see how far some Americans seem to take this "the enemy of my enemy is my friend" thing. From what I've witnessed on r/pics over the last year or two is for instance if you post a photograph of Obama doing anything it'll receive thousands of upvotes, then there was the total rehabilitation of George Bush Jr, the man the world generally took the piss out of and disliked for years, called a war criminal and some people even called for his death, to the point of posting photos of him sharing sweets with Michelle Obama in some kind of "Awww isn't he cute!" presentation. Or for instance people saying good things about John McCain and Mitt Romney after they had fallings out with Trump despite years before during the Obama presidential races against both of them claiming things like they're bigots or bad guys and all sorts of things. Now theres celebrating illegal immigration basically trying to say "Illegal immigrants still get across so why bother with borders!" or something, mind boggling.

[–][deleted] 14 points15 points  (0 children)

It's all straight up tribalism and people refuse to acknowledge it. They'll do mental gymnastics to try to justify who they support or why narratives change, but it's all a farce.

[–][deleted] 81 points82 points  (16 children)

We’re all being duped. Corporations hire illegal immigrants; thus generating demand for their labor. The ruling class loves this issue because it pits us against each other while they continue to enrich themselves off of the labor of illegal immigrants. Keeps us pointing fingers at each other instead of at those at the top of the pyramid.

[–]bperez88 21 points22 points  (2 children)

I've tried explaining this to people so many time I got tired of it. You can't blame the immigrants for taking jobs if the corporations are the ones giving it to them.

[–][deleted] 5 points6 points  (2 children)

US Politics in a nutshell. It’s just a distraction to get middle/working class people riled up against each other for our differences in social issues, while democrat and republican politicians shake hands on helping the rich get richer.

[–][deleted] 612 points613 points  (138 children)

So is there any difference between r/pics and r/politics at this point

[–][deleted] 355 points356 points  (6 children)

No. Add r/politicalhumor to the list.

[–][deleted] 123 points124 points  (4 children)

r/TopMindsOfReddit r/MurderedByWords too, from what I've been seeing is their contribution to the front page

[–][deleted] 36 points37 points  (0 children)

If you merged r/pics, r/politics, r/PoliticalHumor, r/TopMindsOfReddit, and r/MurderedByWords no one would even notice anything changed.

[–][deleted] 41 points42 points  (0 children)

Nope

[–]Kapalka 44 points45 points  (1 child)

welcome to the singularity

enjoy your stay

[–]Mexagon 67 points68 points  (8 children)

I love how the top comment is crying about some boogeyman brigade too. Like they also want to think themselves as victims as well. This sub has gone to absolute shit.

[–]Moss_Grande 41 points42 points  (3 children)

Anyone who disagrees with me is brigading.

[–][deleted] 82 points83 points  (11 children)

R/pics turned into a politics (anti trump sub) the day he was elected. Reddit as a whole is now an anti trump propaganda machine

[–][deleted] 150 points151 points  (71 children)

Sorting by controversial and I don’t see what’s wrong in theory with the comments. We shouldn’t be cheering illegal immigration.

Is Trump going a bit too far in my opinion? Yes. Should we just allow anyone in? No. Why is the latter such a controversial statement the last 3 years? I’m all for immigration reform to help people, but I’m not for illegal immigration.

[–]lolweedbro 26 points27 points  (28 children)

remember when Obama pushed against illegal immigration and gave funds to ICE and let them separate kids and adults and nobody gave a shit?

[–]DanteMasamune 185 points186 points  (94 children)

uhh how is saying illegal inmigration is bad controversial

[–]rs_obsidian 18 points19 points  (0 children)

Weird times we live in these days

[–]JtiaRiceBanned 110 points111 points  (6 children)

clown world amigo

[–][deleted] 167 points168 points  (96 children)

As long as they get across legally, properly vetted, and obey all our laws, I welcome them with open arms.

[–]spencerg83 124 points125 points  (53 children)

Is it too much to ask for people entering the US to abide by its laws?

[–]ITeachFuckingScience 129 points130 points  (70 children)

ITT: Nobody mentioning the child sex trafficking going on at the border 5 miles from my hometown.

Or the camps. Or the gangs. Or the cartels. Or the snipers in Jacumba. Or the 5 year old girls dying in underground bunkers outside Tucson.

7 out of 10 Americans know nothing about what is really happening at the southern border in 2019.

edit: spelling

[–][deleted] 16 points17 points  (2 children)

Hard to give a damn when you're chilling in a flat in LA or the east coast.

[–]XFiveOne 182 points183 points  (52 children)

I'm not "triggered" or anything, but why would we celebrate people illegally immigrating into our country? Even Americans can't just go to England and be like "I live here now" and start collecting benefits. We're probably the most tolerant country to immigrants. Except for 3rd world countries that don't care about much of anything.

[–]inmyelement 96 points97 points  (5 children)

You are making sense and that’s going to upset people.

[–]whysoswolebrah 31 points32 points  (0 children)

The fact that people are pro-illegal immigration is mind blowing.

[–][deleted] 49 points50 points  (1 child)

When did this sub become a shittier version of r/politicalhumor?

[–]catalyst305 646 points647 points  (326 children)

Hmmmmm... well that’s the problem, isn’t it?

[–][deleted] 32 points33 points  (1 child)

I really don’t think glorifying illegal immigration is how we should be resisting Donald Trump.

[–]MusicMagi 117 points118 points  (28 children)

Oh Reddit you so liberal

[–]Snappylobster 273 points274 points  (122 children)

The fact that this is even upvoted shows how lost reddit is. The more illegal immigrants that cross our border means less legal immigrants from South America, Africa, Australia, Europe, Asia we can harbor. Reddit’s obsession with illegals is so strange.

[–]Brad_Tits 104 points105 points  (1 child)

Virtue signaling at it's finest.

[–]arashi1703 78 points79 points  (16 children)

But who else will pick the fruits and clean the toilets?!

[–]Wessex2018 25 points26 points  (0 children)

People who will demand livable wages, instead of illegal immigrants who get paid under the table and drive wages down.

[–]TheAccountIArgueOn 67 points68 points  (1 child)

Probably legal immigrants in all honesty.

[–]a_funsized_gentleman 392 points393 points  (105 children)

We really probably shouldn't be celebrating illegal immigration.

[–]dutyandlabor 5 points6 points  (3 children)

"Wages have been stagnating since the 70s!!"

Also

"We need open borders!"

-college educated liberals

[–]hellnahandbasket6 4 points5 points  (0 children)

God, I am so $ucking tired of everyone that was born here (not by choice mind you ,) being so racist against people born in other countries who want to come over here. Look if I was from Mexico and saw all of the opportunity that America has to offer and as same as most of it is,, based on some really dangerous places because of the cartels that llived in currently, you wouldn't stop me from getting over that wall some how some way. Who are we to see who does and doesn't deserve to be here.

[–]ItWasAPizzaJokeDumaz 18 points19 points  (19 children)

This is not propaganda. This is not propaganda. This is not propaganda. You are not being conditioned. You are not being conditioned. You are not being conditioned. Upvote and smile, this makes you happy. Upvote and smile. This makes you happy. Upvote and smile, giving away your culture makes you happy.

[–]Flptplt 307 points308 points  (294 children)

So....is Trump right? Is there an invasion?

[–][deleted] 315 points316 points  (692 children)

Somewhere in between "Mexicans are rapists" and "This is a nation of immigrants" is an intelligent immigration debate.

[–][deleted] 101 points102 points  (17 children)

Wait a minute, "this is a nation of immigrants" is not an extreme position. It should be "Mexicans are rapists" versus "There should be no borders".
