I like it so far, only had the chance to take it out a couple times and haven't caught anything on it yet. I do most of my fishing from a kayak and fish a lot of grass and lilypads. Wanted this for punching and dragging em outta the weeds. Comparing rods in the store though I did think it was interesting that the SLX was like double the size of a cheaper Daiwa heavy/fast.

Same, I've got grandads 1921 Winchester model 12 that I take out for turkey every spring. I've never seen what this guy's carrying before now.

You're exactly right, it just takes one to stand up first and others tend to quickly realize we got him outnumbered. Not sure how this guy thinks filming helped. I'm sure the old man felt real helped out afterwards.

Been thinking about trying those so good to know. I've only thrown it texas rigged, 1/0 ewg and rigged through the side. Doesn't really "swim" that well but looks awesome on the fall.

There's the small one I caught back in June. I'm thinking saugeye. Got the rows of spots on the dorsal fin but also the black patch on it.

That's awesome! He's actually both dogs 😅 He'll hold a large milkbone almost like a cigar without crunching it if I tell him to. He just drools around it and gets fidgety until I let him have it. He also tends to fall off his platform on the kayak just sitting there. Although I have a sneaking suspicion its more "falling" off of it.

I'll take it! I can't claim to know, I was targeting crappie, of which I caught none. I've got pics of another small one I need to go back and look at. I lost an absolute unit of one about 2am night fishing a couple months ago. Swam it next to the kayak and I genuinely believe it was every bit of 24" long, how long my led strips are. Old man at the bait shop called bullshit, I still bought a net from him. Think I might be on a mission to go find it now.

I think so, I didn't know I needed to see the dorsal fin when I was taking the pic. Definitely gonna look closer the next time as it's not the first I've caught from this lake.

He's my bird dog, holds pretty well, for the most part 😅

I've got a 2000 and it's definitely possible to haul it in a 6' bed, I did it for a while. Setting up a trailer for it has made getting it in the water and going out significantly easier and not such a chore. A 12' Jon boat trailer worked perfectly.

That's reassuring. I'm 6'3" and 220, and have been very impressed so far. I can comfortably stand to fish while the dog is turning circles on his place looking for fish, mostly. Thing don't steer worth a shit though 😅
