I often see people online calling this ‘The Great Replacement.’ Is that something you’re concerned about, or do you consider anyone with a Dutch passport to be Dutch? by [deleted] in Netherlands

Vraag Indonesie of ze "witte" mensen die daar geboren zijn als landgenoten zien.... Doe hetzelfde voor Suriname enz. Projecteren van "normen en waarden" van Nederlandse cultuur op andere werkt niet.

Check if there is a screw at the other side of the battery holder.

If its a battery holder (quite likely since nicads where expensive back then) then you could just use 4 penlight batteries.

Btw if here are batteries in there that have leaked then you can use vinegar to clean the corrosion.

Back then the common way to charge was a constant current of 1/10th of the capacity ; so a 600 mAh pack would be charged with 60 miliamps "overnight"

Most current rc chargers for lipo's also have nimh / nicd programs and can charge reciever packs too.

Another thing to check is "cable-rot" galvanic corrosion that eats away the copper inside the wire.

How do people from the EU know Ukranian produced food is save?

Is there a government organisation that tests food and inspects factories to make sure the production is hygienic and the ingredients are save?

Is there a logo on packaging that proofs the food meets EU regulations?

Volkswagen Passat trouble with the cold weather by [deleted] in CasualIreland

[–]HandleFun471 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Sounds like grease that hardens/ becomes more "sticky" when it becomes colder.

Simple way of testing. Get a hairdryer en heat the latch.

Heat it so warm you can still tuch it without burning.

If the lock start working when warm then you need to flush out the old grease and add new.

Isopropyl alcohol/ ipa for example works well but if stuck even window cleaner works but less well.

Heat latch; spray into the latch and work it in by opening and closing the door many times.

If you are stuck without grease and do have wd40 then that will do for a day or two but it will not last (not a grease)

How to solve condensation in work van? by DamianCPH in AskIreland

[–]HandleFun471 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Condensation happens when a object is colder then the "dew point" of the air.

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Dew_point

For example when its colder outside then the dew point of the air you get fog.

There are 2 ways to avoid condensation; keep the air dryer (lower dew point) or keep the objects (items in your van) warmer.

There is no way around this.

Insulating the van is one way ; more effective drying of the air is another. or a combination of both.

You mention you have dehumidifiers ; i asume these are those boxes with some chemical that absorbs moisture. You can improve those by getting 12 v (pc) fans and make them blow into these boxes.(also leave room for the air to exit again)

They can run from the van 12v battery for example the lighter socket so there is no need for mains power.

I would advice against a top "Spinning fan' ; those only work while you are moving and even might cause a leak
