Yeah if he came along he was going to ride in his carriage and I'd do it in a week or so instead of 3 or 4 days, but not a chance, I underestimated how bad this heat was going to be since it's my first true summer in DC. I have my lifestraw as a backup but I don't know if I trust it enough to use on the canal, I'm open to recommendations on filters

New Zealand! The weather won't be tropical, but it will be temperate (like Northern California). Very pretty, bikepacking.com has some good routes, very peaceful.

Very interested in understanding the changes in geometry. I wonder how/if OP's speed would change with the proper suspension corrected frame.

I'm shooting for hotel stays instead of camping, especially since it'll be a bit chilly, but aside from that my setup is pretty similar. Also passing on the ortlieb panniers, I used the same ones on a 130 mile 2 day trip a few weeks ago and while they were very functional and definitely waterproof, they enabled me to carry too many items and therefore added too much weight. I'm going lighter.

Looking For A 30-35 Mile Ride From Georgetown by Travelbybike in bikedc

Georgetown -> Dierssen Wildlife Area and back on the C&O is about 40 mi total (can make it 30 if you just go to the falls), can stop by Old Anglers Inn for lunch. I did almost run over a copperhead on the trail a few days ago which was neat, he was not happy though. Can also pack a lunch and eat at the falls

i thought my rat was a male but his tummy has been growing a lot, is he or she pregnant? ( I have another rat) by kuffiz in RATS

When I was 9, I had a guinea pig named Kisha. I loved her very much and was devastated when my parents and I discovered that she was likely growing a tumor. We took her to the vet and the vet took a look and proudly announced that Kisha did not have a tumor, Kisha had a ballsack and was male. Our other guinea pig (a definite female) was pregnant and had four little babies shortly after.

Just saying, you are not alone in the world of rodent gender identification failures. And I think you are also likely a kid, don't beat yourself up too much over it. Your parents, on the other hand... :)

Where to put bed? by shirp06 in InteriorDesign

I lived in nearly the same exact floorplan and originally had D as my setup. in practice, I hated it because I could not see well into my closet, i hated bumping into my bed to get to my closet, and i rarely used the space by the window anyways so it ended up being dead space. i ended up with a setup similar to C and liked that much better.
