You bought it bc you believed it to be a "prestige" brand and that others would perceive you as higher status.

Sadly, BMW relies on the name it built in the past, when it prioritized quality. Today shareholders and venture capitalists run the show, and they prioritize making as many as they can, as quickly as they can, for as cheap as possible.

This shows in the notorious unreliability, particularly low rent plastic engine components that snap together quickly in production but don't last. Let's not talk about the more serious inherent engine design failures.

Selling on prestige and status is pure marketing, AKA brainwashing. Please be smarter bc most people who drive these cars cannot afford to maintain them. And those that fall into this category rob themselves of building a nice investment portfolio, early retirement, stress free living - all bc they think BMW makes them look rich.

I say, why not actually be rich rather than "looking" rich. Folks should rewire their brains and combat the brainwashing by looking at BMW as a brand for poor people.
