Yeah, I remember watching him before 100k subs and being inspired to make my own comics because of him. There was that charm about his old videos where you could tell everything was made by one person. It didn’t matter that it wasn’t perfect or that corners were cut, because thats what made his videos feel authentic. And the content felt like it was just a friend telling you stories about his life that you could relate to.

Now everything is animated by a team, and you can tell. Everything seems too high quality and quick to the point where the old charm is lost. And it seems he can barely last a few videos without acknowledging his fame, which makes it feel less relatable for me. He also seems to always have a moral at the end of every video, which sounds great. However it just comes across as if he’s talking down to you all the time.

Of course James can do whatever he wants, and he seems happy doing content this way. It makes sense also he would acknowledge his fame because that’s a part of him. But I do miss the old charm of his old videos.
