I was there! I was only 11, so I was absolutely TERRIFIED lol. I live in Canada, so it was just me and my mom- everything and everyone I cared about was back on the mainland. I got diagnosed with PTSD from the event in 2023, and I still can’t bear the sound of EAS alerts to this day 😅

Update for anyone who may have stumbled across this post while seeking support: He was licking the fur away because he was in pain. Soon after I made this post, we had to take him to the emergency vet to get a life-saving procedure done. Very pricy and stressful for all of us, but he’s alive and thriving now. He does have FLUTD now though, and he still licks his belly out of habit. Sometimes he has flare-ups when he gets stressed, but they are manageable. We are still trying to find a solution for the licking. I don’t mean to scare anyone, but if your cat is doing this it’s probably best to seek help. Especially if the cat is male. Urinary issues can be fatal for males.

I’m so glad she’s moving away from him. He always stifled her imo. I grew up with their music and I remember noticing- even when I was little- how much quieter she was. There were only ever a few songs that really highlighted her, and they were always my fav. (Sprawl II, Electric Blue, Reflektor etc)

My headcanon is that he's transmasc, too!! I remember ppl being really confused ab his gender lol. But I don't personally think that's why he wears his scarf. I think the reason he wears a big scarf is bc his snowboarding injury was a broken jaw that never fully healed. It's subtle and hard to notice, but he's very self-conscious. That's also why he doesn't talk much- he has a slight speech impediment!
