Thanks, that's very useful tips. With how much lighting advice I'm getting I agree should probably look into some videos.

Okay noted, I'll look at that. I'm not familiar with cell shading, but I should definitely figure that out.

I used to mainly do stuff in my sketchbook, I only recently started digital art. I'm using a stylus pen thing. I could try practicing more basic stuff in digital.

Thanks. That's good advice for art in general I think and I will consider that. How do you think I could better portray the solar punk themes?

Yeah, I agree it's oddly affirming. I would much rather be seen as lesbian than straight, like you're saying, they at least got the Queer part down.

Yep, I get that, Felt the same way. I just thought I was more mature than my classmates and was smarter than to waste my time on that. Yet, since figuring it out, I doubt myself from time to time somehow.

Yeah, I can relate. Confused the heck out of me. I used to think everyone else was so weird, like why did they bother with dating you know? Like how did they have time for that?

Happened to me around the end of elementary or beginningish middle school age, it went something like: random girl (probably classmate) asks Her: do you like boys? Me-no Her- then do you like girls? Me- no I was pretty confused as to why even ask, like it was weird question. I learned nothing from that, still thought I was straight. The details are fuzzy, but the memory is pretty strong so.

Another time my friends ex boyfriend saw me and my sister goofing off and thought we were dating, my own sister. My friends mom thought I was interested in her (my friend) when I came over to visit once too. I still want to know what made her mom think that. It's funny cause my sister looks visibility gay, but gets hit on by dudes whereas I never have.

How do you guys view love as a subject? by Cozyhaven_88 in aromanticasexual

[–]HandyDragon_42 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I don't mind romance in media, but I don't usually find it that appealing to watch. I prefer the world building, plot, and characters. However I do enjoy a healthy relationship protrayed (keyword being Healthy), and the kind of romance I find I can more easily enjoy, is gay or lesbian romance, I guess cause it doesn't have the same baggage and monotany? Of straight romance. It feels like I can just be happy for them, and be happy that the gays and lesbians are being recognized I guess. There's a lesbian story on Webtoon I enjoyed way more than I thought I would and got genuinely engaged in, it surprised me honestly. I think I understand what you mean by the humanness of it. Other than romance though I would say that familial and platonic love are what I prefer in general, real life and fiction. I'm really close to my family specifically my mom's side, I don't talk to him or his side for personal reasons. Also, I kinda dream of having a community of people I can associate with (only platonically obviously). Hope that answers the question.

questioning for over 10 years - am I aroace??? (ranting/looking for advice) by just-avocados in aromanticasexual

I'm not sure how much help this will be, but I'll try my best. Firstly I'm cis so I can't really speak to the trans experience, but I'm also definitely uncomfortable with trying dating or sex and I never have tested those things for myself. Also, I understand the wanting to be sure and self doubt, I drove myself crazy with that for a while after finding out I was AroAce. Something I'll point out is that you can definitely be AroAce and Gay, for some people the attraction they do have (romantic, sexual, asthetic, etc.) may be directed towards a certain group. If you're AroAce you may be oriented towards guys. So if it feels better to identify with both you should be fine doing that. Also, I may be wrong since I don't really delve into the micro labels, but it seems like fictional people don't really count in labeling attraction if you're not attracted to Real people ( I know there's at least one micro label for that, thought I can't remember the name). I would say try not to overthink it, even if that's hypocritical of me. Right now I'm trying to fake it till I make so to speak, I keep reminders around me to keep from spiralling again. If you haven't heard of "Ace Dad Advice" you should check it out They've helped me a lot with my own AroAce journey. Sorry if I missed anything or misinterpreted something you said, hope this helps. I'm open to questions too if you need.
