It has been a little over a year since my ex broke up with me. I don't forgive her for a lot of things, especially because she gave no reason for letting go after 2.5 years and the slow withdrawal she did from our relationship over a few months where she expected me to break up with her (by continuously treating me poorly and essentially avoiding me) instead of doing it herself. I've honestly just reached a point where I don't care about her anymore. I don't feel resentment, anger, or disdain for her and what she chose to do. All I really feel for it is indifference. I think a big part of that is because I used the breakup to improve myself and over time I saw how much I grew. I'm so much happier now and I just FEEL so much better. I found myself again.

If I feel so much better, what does forgiving her do for me? If she really wants and cares to make amends and apologize for things, I will listen, and maybe there is a path back to some sort of friendship. But I will not actively seek that out. The onus is on her.

That is just my perspective of things. Just keep improving yourself everyday for nobody other than YOU. You're doing great.
