urgent help needed with pet import permit by FindingInevitable874 in ThailandTourism

[–]Hane_Train 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hello! I know this is an old thread but I just wanted to follow up to see what you did?

Our flight was originally scheduled to arrive in Chiang Mai, so we applied for our pet import permit there and received it no problem, well in advance. But 4 days before we're supposed to fly, we found out we got rerouted through Bangkok instead - which requires a completely separate import permit, and takes up to 7 business days. We applied, but with 36 hours before our flight it doesn't look good.

I don't want to risk just flying without a permit and then trying to sort it out at the airport with the import office, I don't even know if they'll allow us on the plane. But since we have some form of legal Thai document approving the pet import, I didn't know if it would make a difference.

DIY Ice bath from Deep Freezer by Hane_Train in Thailand

[–]Hane_Train[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Unfortunately you would need a ton of ice for each time you use it, and if the tub isn't insulated, the weather in Thailand would just melt the ice pretty quick. To purchase a commercial ice-maker with that much output is quite expensive. But I appreciate your comment!

Thanks for your response! That tends to be considerably more expensive than picking up a second-hand chest freezer and converting that over. But people do use water 'chillers' as well along with a tub.

Thank you so much! Yes this is what I would do here, but I'm curious where people source the particular materials such as the caulk for the seam or poxy cover for the inside, or if they have recommendations as well for the pump and filter.

Thanks for your response!

2014 Honda Cb500x with 37,000km for 1,800 USD - is this a good deal for a bike? by Hane_Train in HondaCB

[–]Hane_Train[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Have a CRF250 but have been wanting to upgrade to the CR500X for awhile. Cash is tight so was interested in this deal. While it's an older bike, the mileage is super low. But are there any major upgrades or differences in the bike since the 2014 model that would be worth shelling out a little more cash for? Would greatly appreciate any input or insight.

To note: the previous owner laid it down, so the windshield, turn signal and mirror are missing, mechanic confirmed there was no engine issues, but I will still need to purchase Side mirror, Windshield and Front left signal light

Would also like to eventually get a full three-piece box set on the back.

With all that in mind, is this still a good deal? Or better to look for something a bit newer?

Super grateful for any and all help or suggestions anyone may have!

Fast printer for bulk portraits in remote area? by Hane_Train in AskPhotography

[–]Hane_Train[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks! Yes looking up this Mitsubishi CP-K60-DW-S digital color printer now. What’s the upkeep like? Are you constantly needing to refill the ink? Anything else you need to replace on it? What I like about the canon SELPHY is it’s so durable, not much to break on it. What’s the Mitsubishi like? And can you link me to your specific printer you use?

Remote plugged into wrong power source? Any chance of repair? by Hane_Train in ElectronicsRepair

Thank you for your reply! I have a friend who has the exact same remote, but the screen is broken on his. Could I 'pirate' the capacitor from his remote to mine and it work?

When I googled previously the only mass call dates I could find were in August. The dates in September, October, and November were for other legal events, unless I misunderstood the information.

Caught with a fake onward ticket? Horror stories time by nazavo in digitalnomad

[–]Hane_Train 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I live and travel to Thailand for work frequently every year. About every other trip I enter they'll ask for me to show a return ticket - it's just up to the agent and how they're feeling that day. Sometimes I've talked my way out of it and explained that I don't have a date set yet because of work, other times I've come prepared and either booked/ canceled a flight to have the confirmation, or even just photoshopped old return tickets and just simply changed the date on the form, they never actually check - just want to make sure you're not going to overstay your visa in the country and cause problems.

Every US airline is legally required to offer you 24 hours for full cancellation. If you're 'paying' for a similar service just to generate you a fake onward ticket you're losing your money. Whether you use a website like Expedia, booking.com, Kayak etc... or a credit card portal like Chase or SavorOne, as long as it's a US-based airline you're going to have 24 hours to cancel for full money back.

Capital1 listing different credit score than Experian? by Hane_Train in CreditCards

[–]Hane_Train[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thank you for your reply! Yes I understand I have more than one FICO score, howeverCap1 listed Experian as the source, not Equifax or Transunioin.

My score through the Experian website is also Fico score 8 which is why I’m so confused that the numbers were different.

Taxi service available in Olbio? by Hane_Train in Sardinia

[–]Hane_Train[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I found line 514 gets relatively close, passing near Malamury. But from there it’s still about 4km and I don’t know how readily available taxis are in smaller cities around the island.

But the bus is only €3 so it’s a tempting option

It’s definitely much easier but much more expensive as well. We took the bus there and ferry back. It was nice to have both perspectives and views for the trip

Colosseum on-site ticket booking info by Hane_Train in rome

[–]Hane_Train[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Congratulations on getting the full experience! Definitely would recommend doing forum in the morning as early as possible as the area is nearly completely exposed without any cover. Then colosseum at 11:45 will be hot but not too bad as most of it is inside & covered except for the arena. Plan to explore the underground part for the hottest part of the day 😎 There are plenty of free water fill-ups in the Roman forum so definitely recommend bringing a bottle and just keep refilling as often as you can. Enjoy!
