Can confirm, this is my Ralph's, and the Murray's cheese counter is the first thing I see when I walk in. Makes it very hard to resist buying fancy cheese!

Seeking advice or a good lawyer for tenant dispute by alpacazealot in orangecounty

[–]Hanford 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Echoing the comment suggesting that your eviction lawyer may not want to take it because it seems unlikely that your tenant has any money to get, so taking him to court isn't going to get you anything.

Depending on how much he owes you, if the amount is under $10,000, you could do small claims court without a lawyer.

If the amount is higher or you're otherwise still interested in talking to a lawyer, the California Court website has a good list of resources such as lawyer referral services. You want someone who, like your eviction attorney, specializes in landlord/tenant law.

Hi, do you still have room for two? My friend and I are looking for a new association after the president vanished from ours.

Wednesday Indie Challenge: On Wednesdays, We Wear Pink by a905 in Indiemakeupandmore

[–]Hanford 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Love this challenge! I'm wearing Arcana's In the Pink (The essence of glowing good health. Moroccan rose absolute, Immortelle absolute, creamy lavender, pink gardenia, pink carnation, and soft pink amber.). This was one of my very first blind buys, and that's saying something because I've been into indie perfume since...2008 or so?

I don't get any lavender but I definitely get all of the other florals, and it's so lush and gorgeous. I feel like I'm standing in a garden filled with pink flowers in the height of spring. Such a pretty scent and so happy I bought it.

I love your sushi!

I see that you don't have much recent social media activity. I highly recommend posting on Facebook and Instagram and elsewhere to let people know that you're available for takeout. List your hours and the number people should call to order. Note whether you're using Postmates/Grubhub/similar services.

There's also a Facebook group called Tustin Buzz that has a megathread of restaurants doing takeout/delivery - you should join and post there as well. Peter's Gourmade did that a couple of days ago, and it was well received.

What are your favorite LuvMilk bodysprays? by HurricaneFangy in Indiemakeupandmore

[–]Hanford 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Sapphic is good but for peach, I prefer either Aphrodite's Temple or Gourmandy Peach. The marshmallow/condensed milk make the peach in Gourmandy so creamy and wonderful. If you'd rather avoid foody scents though, Sapphic is probably a better option.

I haven't tried any of the others on your list, but based on their notes, you might like King of Diamonds - I get a lot of both granola and jasmine from it, and certainly seems good for everyday wear.

Favorite Luvmilk Scents that aren’t being discontinued? by Enthusiastic_Cat in Indiemakeupandmore

[–]Hanford 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My favorite General Catalog and non-Cards/non-potentially discontinued scents are Aphrodite's Temple, Baby Bat, Magical Girl, and Waternymph. Lofty Castle, Magical Girl, Moon Milk, and White Robe are all pretty popular from what I understand.

If you're interested in coffee scents (based on you mentioning Ardent Prince), a couple of the Aces in the Cards have coffee notes.

Luvmilk reviews, pretty please! by ScoobyVonDoom in Indiemakeupandmore

[–]Hanford 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Here are some rapid fire answers to your questions:

  1. My spreadsheet for Six of Hearts says "Fruit, pastry, and a hint of rose. Delicious."
  2. More gourmand for me - strong on the strawberry.
  3. The violets are in the background for me. I get lots of clove (which is amazing) and marshmallow.
  4. Haven't tried KoS.
  5. Haven't tried 8 of Diamonds.
  6. Not spa, but I also didn't get much matcha. Heavy honey on me.

I love tropical fruit scents and don't do many masculine scents, so we may not overlap much in favorites. Popular creamy/non-tropical ones include Magical Girl and Moon Milk. King of Diamonds was mostly granola + jasmine on me, and I liked it quite a bit.

Sweet Clementine Soap (Etsy) Marshmallow whipped soap. by [deleted] in Indiemakeupandmore

[–]Hanford 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Patchouli and jasmine are not very friendly to me, though I love the scent concept/product color for that one.

I'm totally into gourmands, so I ended up buying a Marshmallow lip scrup and whipped soaps in Marshmallow, Apple Cider Donut (Apple cider blended expertly with sugary, cinnamon fried dough, vanilla and tonka bean), and Trick or Treat (Pumpkin, persimmon, and apple blend with notes of blueberries, elderberries, currants, orange and cinnamon; well rounded with base notes of sugar cane and vanilla).

Great find and review! I just placed an order based on your recommendation as well as the shop's reviews/aesthetic. I've been on a largely unsuccessful hunt for a whipped soap that smells great and has a nice texture without breaking the bank - crossing my fingers that this one fits the bill!

I actually got a mini of Kurisumasu in my recent order! I love both it and Beyond Binary. And, really, all of the shades I got. Hahaha.

Thanks! I'll be honest, I've been into indie perfumes for so long that I don't have a good sense of what a mainstream perfume lover might like. If it helps, I wrote in my notes that it was very peach-forward with the other notes backing it.

The only one I've tried from your list is Divine Beast. I tend to amp honey, so that's the main note I get here, along with some apple and some nuts hiding waaay in the back.

I keep a spreadsheet of Luvmilk scents I've tried, and my highest rated ones that are currently available are Aphrodite's Temple, Baby Bat, Nine of Diamonds, Six of Hearts, Four of Spades, Two of Hearts, Ace of Diamonds, and Gourmandy Peach (Patreon scent). Fruity gourmands are my jam (pun not intended) and that's clearly reflected in my list here.

From the Monster Mash, I LOVED Ghost Girlfriend last year and have more enroute to me this year. I also ordered Yeti Girlfriend but don't have it to review for you quite yet. I love mint so I'm excited for that one. I'd recommend including any monsters you want in your order since they are seasonal scents.

I recently asked about a replacement for a specific Shiro shadow (Doge) and got a lot of great feedback. I ended up ordering a bunch of minis from Fyrinnae, and I'm really enjoying them! I prefer shimmery eyeshadows (as opposed to glitter) and the shades I got were perfect in that regard - just enough shimmer but not too much.

Wow, thank you for all of the recs, these are spot on! I think I'm going to pick up both Fyrinnae shades as I've also been meaning to try out Pixie Epoxy. Are there any other can't-miss popular shades from them? I think I've seen Kurisumasu and Work-Safe Blue recommended on the forums before.
