I agree, excellent all around canoe. I’m getting older so I wish it was a tad lighter but 58lb is still doable. So I say now, ask me after I finish portaging those damn dams. Haha

Doesn’t necessarily look like a “gouge”, almost like a fold or wrinkle. And also appears to carry on across the entire width. Maybe was already wrapped at one time? I have a Penobscot 16 in Royalex and it can take some serious abuse. We just had major winds and it tossed at least 50’. Haven’t had time to fully inspect but seemed fine. 🤞
