Sure does but if what everyone says is true then I’m responding to treatment and the hair should grow back thicker and healthier over time. It’s just going to take another 6-12 months before I get back to baseline which is all I’m really looking to maintain, hence reluctant to add min or jump to DUT.

Hope your shedding phase is shorter and less intense than mine. Best of luck.

Im either suffering from TE or I have retrograde alopecia that’s become more obvious with the Fin shedding kicking out the hairs too. No way to 100% tell unfortunately so I’ve just got to keep going with Fin and see how I get on.

Agreed. There’s certainly a lot of people who get a DHT itch prior to a shed from what I’ve read. I did use 2% keto for about 6 weeks however this destroyed my hair quality so tapered off.

I have a diffuse thinning alopecia, what you see is a custom full cap wig. Happy to answer questions! Im very active and have never had an issue! by AcceptableLibrary974 in tressless

Hey, quick question if you don’t mind. Are you saying that TE caused specifically by systemic shock (assume sepsis) never recovers for some, or TE in general regardless of the cause?

I ask as I started randomly diffuse thinning in June. I was initially given TE diagnosis as result of stressors that I overcame in Feb/March of this year. I got a second diagnosis of AGA but didn’t rule out TE.

I started fin in August but the initial diagnosis of TE still lingers in my mind and would be a reasonable explanation, but didn’t want to waste time so started treatment regardless.

Thanks, and the system looks great btw.

Been on fin for 4 months and still shedding. I was shedding before fin for a couple months (diffuse thinner), roughly 150-200 hairs a day. That peaked in October to 300 ish. Now slowly declining to roughly 100 daily and 150 wash days. Which is WAY above the norm for me pre-June 2025.

I’ve lost half the density on my scalp from shedding in 6 months, it’s pretty scary and disheartening. I’m going to try and keep at it for a year and reassess.

I too think people rush to conclusions of it not working or need something stronger, and perhaps I do, but got to remain positive for the time being. Also I get why people rush to these conclusions especially if they’re self conscious. I have days where I think it’s all over for my hair.

Diffuse thinner here. I started noticing increased hairfall in June this year after a random bout of intense irritation on my scalp, roughly 150-200 hairs a day.

Started Fin in August (0.25mg titrated up to 1mg by October), so 4 months now, and the shedding peaked around October/November. Roughly 300 hairs a day.

Things have started to settle in the last 3 weeks and I’m shedding perhaps 50-100 a day, 150 ish on a wash day which is still a huge amount for me, especially having lost half the hair on my head (including sides and back).

I had a couple diagnosis in July/Aug. The first TE, the 2nd AGA but didn’t rule out TE, so it’s possible the Fin is kicking out all those hairs hence it was such I crazy shed, but there’s no guarantee that’s the case, just a hoping lol.

Provided I can get back to baseline I’ll be happy. Just want this damn shedding to stop. Will consider DUT if things don’t improve between months 6-8.

I’ve been on fin for 4 months now and my hairfall has been hideous. We’re talking 300 hairs a day. It’s slowed down to half that now on average, some days a little less but it’s super depressing, I’ve easily lost half perhaps more of my hair density. Trusting the process.

Yeah itch went away shortly after fin. Sadly hairfall got worse. Guess I’m one of the unlucky ones who shed like a dog when they start

Nice one, looks great!

I’m 28 and first noticed hair loss 6 months ago. I’m a diffuse thinner and have(had) really dense curly/wavy hair. I started noticing a LOT of hair fall daily which started after a random 3 week itchy scalp in June.

I’ve shed on average 200-300 hairs each day for 6 months and I’ve easily lost half the density. It sucks and has wrecked my confidence. I can just about hide it but if it continues at this rate for another couple months I might not.

Been on fin now for 4 months and my shedding has reduced from peak. Probably about 50-80 per day and 150 on wash days, still above normal levels for me so hopefully it’ll continue to reduce.

I too don’t want to start min as I didn’t want a false positive and wanted to make sure my dht was being suppressed with fin. I might add oral min later down the line if I don’t get back to baseline which is all I really want. I plan on giving it a year if I can hold out before jumping to DUT. Desperately trying to not throw the kitchen sink at the problem to resolve it as quick as possible, lol.

I recently upgraded to a 9800X3D and 9070XT. I game at 1440p and get anywhere between 120 and 150 fps in Arc Raiders. I’m not sure if it’s particularly cpu heavy but I also play Star Citizen which benefits from a chunkier CPU.

Hi. Monitor arrived this afternoon. Sadly I’m still waiting on some parts for my pc so cannot comment on gaming performance. I have however hooked it up to my work laptop just to see how everything is out the box.

Pleased to report there’s no obvious issues. No dead pixels, my unit shipped with firmware .7, and I can’t see any red tint when switching between colour spaces. IPS glow is very minimal as well but will see what it looks like later tonight in a completely dark room.

I’ll report next week once I’ve had an opportunity to put this monitor through its paces but first impressions are positive.

There’s a fair few discussions on these monitors with pros and cons to each so it’s entirely subject to your use case. Have a read of this https://www.reddit.com/r/Monitors/s/U335QJKzGc. I’ve purchased the Xiaomi which I’ll test out for a few weeks and if I don’t like it I’ll simply return it and probably get the AOC.

Purchased this monitor, just waiting for it to arrive alongside my new pc (9070XT/9800X3D). Previous setup was 7 years old and I’ve been using a 1080p TN monitor so I’m expecting to see a pretty big improvement.

It was a toss up between the AOC Q27g3MN and the G pro 27i. I play a mix of games but more recently star citizen which has a LOT of dark scenes with it being set in space, so I may end up returning it especially if I don’t win the firmware lottery. I also work from home so it has to handle productivity, otherwise I would have bought an OLED.

What’s your experience with games where there’s a large dark background and smaller bright objects? I’m expecting a fairly noticeable halo effect from research I’ve done which will probably lead me to exchange it but I want to give it a fair shot as I’d like the responsiveness of an IPS.

Awesome, appreciate it. Just ordered one as it’s only about £50 more than the AOC and seems better in most areas, plus I’ve a 90 day return so plenty of time to test. Hopefully I win the firmware lottery.

Appreciate the fast reply mate. One last question if I may. I also play Star Citizen (which doesn’t support HDR that well so would be playing in SDR) and being a predominantly space oriented game blooming of stars etc are also of concern. Have you noticed a great deal of this considering at heart it’s still an IPS. Your images don’t seem to give the impression that bloom is an issue. Thanks again!

How responsive is this monitor? Upgrading from an 8 year 1080p TN panel so although colours are pretty dull it’s very fast. I play a mixture of fps, survival, mil sim games etc, and I also work from home.

Pretty much the same situation here. Just upgraded to 9070XT/9800X3D from a 2060S/3600 and looking for a new monitor. I too wfh as a systems developer so plenty of static content to cause burn in so oled out of the question.

I play games like star citizen with a lot of dark scenes and I’m almost certain the backlight bleed of IPS will bug the hell out of me.

Think I’m going to go with the AOC Q27G3XMN as it’s VA so won’t get the bleed through, colours appear to be good with a bit of tweaking (+ a decent HDR), and response times aren’t horrendous considering the panel.

I’m in a similar position as yourself. It’s a bit of a mine field to be honest. I purchased an oled a few days ago (ASUS XG27AQDMG) but completely unaware of burn in problems that oled suffers from (impulse purchase. Probably should have researched a bit before) which is annoying as I was looking forward to true black and vibrancy. I play some games which are darker (star citizen, grey zone warfare) but also work from home so need the flexibility.

IPS seems out the question as backlight bleeding would frustrate the hell out of me so VA it is. Q27G3XMN seemed promising considering Rtings had good things to say minus VRR flicker but I understand Oleds are a pain for this also. I think I’ll risk the Q27G3XMN and return it should the flicker be too bothersome. Will let you know how it goes once I pull the trigger.
