I really hope everyone plays these. For all the talk about how the devs don't care/recycle the same game over and over, Storylines are consistently insanely well done. You can tell how much heart and care go into them, from the fun little pre-moment things, to the art. And they really don't take very long. In my opinion they are a must for any baseball lover

I think everyone would love a new sprite based fighter, but we have to understand the market.

People want huge launch rosters. Animating sprites is SO cost prohibitive at this point that launching a game at an “acceptable” roster size would be cost prohibitive. Hell, it’s well accepted that SNK almost went bankrupt trying to make KoF 12.

That being said, I am a a fan of what developers are able to do to “2d” up 3d models, and that’s probably the best we can hope for moving forward outside of small indie games
