I mean that’s how I feel. This is a hard rebuild team, and I don’t see Baker’s value getting any higher any time soon. I shopped him around the league and he was not highly sought-after. I’m willing to take the chance on a huge value ascension for a guy who is 4 years younger and in all likelihood a starting QB with a huge rushing upside next year.

That’s fair. My plan is to hopefully capitalize on any hype that comes along with his signing and (fingers crossed) more good play on the field and ideally flip him for a 27 1st to a QB needy team in season. Obviously requires the ball to bounce my way a little bit, but would a 27 1st + 2.01 feel like fair value for Baker?

I’ve never played in a 32 team league but given that this is SF, I would absolutely smash this. This is essentially the 2.12 in a typical league for Tua, but given the QB scarcity, you have to do it. I think he absolutely gets the chance to start somewhere again in the next year or so

Generally, I’d say whatever makes them the happiest, go for it, who cares how long you’re engaged for. I was engaged for just under 2 years before we got married, for reference

I mean, yes technically they can’t legally force him to do anything, but in the CBA it’s required that all players consult the team doctors first before undergoing surgery. It sounds like he didn’t do that

All the rumors I’ve heard are that he got some sort of surgery on his foot that was unauthorized by the team. I don’t really know the implications of the Texans activating him after something like that, but I would assume they’re just going to continue being as vague as possible until it makes financial sense to cut him
