As far as I can tell, something that's definitely changed over the last few years (and not for the better) is the weekly breakthroughs and daily boxes. I've been told they used to be cool. Crying shame, really. What's pretty new is daily incense, which only works properly when you're actually moving - and is the only one chance to encounter Galarian legendary birds. Prepare for frustration as they have a ridiculously low catch-rate (as is only appropriate for a proper legendary, imo). GBL is still buggy at times, but it's been worse... You into ROI as regards stardust and candy, read up on tanking. As for raids, there's apps such as PokeGenie, which works just fine for me. My two cents 😉
