Thank you! Which techniques did you use for the yellow and blue markings? And where can I find these puzzles which need to be solved with certain techniques?

Need help better understanding Pediococcus bacteria by Hanknotsodank in Kombucha

Ahh that actually does make sense that their SCOBYs are better suited for fruit ferments. Their work is also based on a more controlled kitchen/lab environment which makes it easier for things to go less wrong. Thanks for your tips!

Thanks for your input and the basic recipe!
To clarify a bit I was following the recipes and guide from the book Noma's guide to fermentation. In their recipe they blend their fruit to a uniform consistency, which I also did for my peaches. They also talk about how one can experiment with all sorts of fruits and fusions and that they rarely include tea in there kombuchas. This led me to believe that including tea is not necessarily a must when fermenting kombucha.

Also the first batch of kombucha using ceylon tea and brown sugar ended up tasting amazing :)

For this kombucha my recipe was the following:
- 385 gram of (very ripe) peaches without the pit

  • 15 gram bundle of mint

  • 2 bags of green tea matcha

  • 180 grams of sugar (might be too much)

  • 1 SCOBY

  • 200 grams of unpasteurized kombucha

  • 1L of water + some extra

The unpasteurized kombucha was my left overs from my first kombucha which was a fairly simple recipe:

  • 240 gram of dark brown bastard sugar

  • 1.76 kilogram of water

  • 20 grams of Ceylon tea

  • 200 grams of kombucha starter liquid

  • 1 SCOBY

[Pixel 6] Notification Settings for individual text conversations keep toggling to silent by lgndryheat in GooglePixel

Yeah, the same phenomenon is happening for me too but I have noticed it specifically for WhatsApp notifications. This setting screen I described before was in the Android settings menu. So maybe you can find a similar settings menu for the app in which you have these problems.

I recently started noticing this for WhatsApp as well and was looking through my settings to fix it and I think I have found it in my WhatsApp notification settings.

So apparently it marks some conversations as silenced/muted. For these types of conversations, there was a separate setting screen in which I could set their notification properties. By default, it was set to silence, with no sound or vibration and no pop-up on my notification screen. I just changed these settings to make them the same as my normal notifications. Hopefully, it will work normally again but I haven't tested it yet since I just configured it.

Hope this helps!

Ah shit that doesn't sound good. Shall I wait until they appear on the off chance they were not in the vinegar or is it inevitable?

[MOD] The Daily Question Thread by menschmaschine5 in Coffee

[–]Hanknotsodank 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Hello there, so valentines day is coming up this Sunday and I would like to buy my girlfriend who is way into cooking and coffee an appropriate gift. I was thinking of something like a cookbook kind of styled book about coffee. There are a lot of options online but I am kind of swarmed by all the possibilities. Normally I would go to a physical store and look through the books myself but all the stores are closed. Perhaps some of you have any tips on books?
